Madpoles[1] are a species of turquoise tadpoles appearing in Super Mario 3D World and its Nintendo Switch port Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. Their name is a combination of "mad" and "tadpole".

Madpoles are uncommon enemies that calmly swim on the water surface. If they spot Mario, they swim to him, and will keep doing so if Mario dives into the water, trying to ram him. They can be defeated by any attack, with the Cat and Fire forms being useful against swarms of them. Madpoles appear in Rammerhead Reef, The Bowser Express, Deepwater Dungeon, Sprawling Savanna Rabbit Run, and Pipeline Boom Lagoon; in the latter level, they replace the Goombas in floaties and Cheep Cheeps of the original level.

The stamp found in Deepwater Dungeon depicts a Madpole.

In the Super Mario Mash-up in Minecraft, Tadpoles are replaced by Madpoles.
