Stage 1[edit]

Start of chapter 1

しんヒーロー? あかちゃんマリオとうじょう!! (A new hero? Baby Mario appears!!)

Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi are still stuck in the future timeline of the Koopa Empire. Yoshi poops out an egg containing his feces, but inside he also finds an old photo of him in Yoshi's Island carrying Baby Mario, while two ghoulish faces can be spotted in the background. Strangely, Yoshi has no recollection of that photo, not even Mario is sure if the baby pictured is him, but a voice behind them does recognize the baby as Mario. As they turn to face the person, they discover him to be Bowser, happy to defeat Mario one more time. He transforms into a cannon gun, but the Toads, having regained their freedom thanks to the Mario Brothers taking care of the Koopalings, relentlessly kick and punch Bowser: his reign is over. Defeated, Bowser notices Yoshi's photo again and decides that, if Mario is going to ruin his future, he will ruin his past, and uses his powers to time travel back in time. A text box appears after he vanishes, explaining what he has done. Quickly understanding his plan, the heroes must find a way to travel back in time: luckily, one of the Toads sells time machines, and sells them the Taru-gata Machine to follow him. As a payment, Mario sells him Yoshi: he will then reach them after he pays for another time machine.

In hyperspace, Bowser manages to lose the Mario Brothers and reaches the castle he owned in Yoshi's Island, where he correctly presumes the photo was taken, where he will meet up with Kamek (who was warned of his arrival). Bowser lands right on top of Kamek, knocking him unconscious. He then whispers in his ear to go and fetch the baby Mario Brothers that the stork is delivering when it passes over the island, then he goes to sleep. Kamek wakes up and, following the order, quickly kidnaps the bundled babies from the stork. Shocked and dizzy, the stork exclaims its worries for the two baby Mario Brothers, getting heard by the adult Mario Brothers, who then catch up to Kamek. Seeing their barrel-shaped vehicle, Kamek takes out a dagger and plants it into the barrel, expelling the two occupants, similar to a One Shot Blackbeard Crisis game. As the Mario Brothers plummet down to Yoshi's Island, Kamek notices that he lost a baby bundle, yet decides to go and deposit the one he has.

Mario and Luigi fall into a bush near some Yoshis, but before they can investigate, a box from the time machine shop appears with Yoshi inside, having paid both time machines to the Toad. Right then, another Yoshi comes with a bundle that contains little Baby Mario. To avoid one of the Yoshis eating him, Yoshi takes him and puts him on his shell. To commemorate their arrival, the Yoshis ask them to pose for a photo, and Yoshi accepts. As the photo is taken, Mario and Luigi emerge from the bush in the background with bruised faces due to mosquito bites, scaring the photographer. Thanks to that, Yoshi finally puts together how that photo came into his possession: he simply left it by his unhatched egg.

Stage 2[edit]

Start of chapter 2

ヨッシーだいへんしん!? カメックをいかけろ!! (Yoshi transforms!? After Kamek!!)

At Bowser's Castle, Bowser is punishing Kamek for having brought just Baby Luigi, who he does not even acknowledge as a menace to him. Feeling bad to leave the kid to be picked up on trash day, Kamek convinces Bowser to keep the baby for now, but between the bites, the tantrums, and the soiled diapers, Bowser is slowly losing his patience, and orders Kamek to go fetch Baby Mario. As Kamek and his Toadies go, Bowser is left with Baby Luigi and, after another diaper-incident, he smacks his bottom.

Meanwhile, back at the Yoshi Village, Luigi is feeling the pain that is being inflicted to his younger-self, so it is decided to search for Kamek's lair to rescue him. Also, with the Yoshis being convinced of making Baby Mario their snack, Mario decides to take him with them. Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Baby Mario begin a new journey. After some walking, the baby starts crying: to make him stop, Mario tries to stretch Luigi's face to make him laugh, and Yoshi tries to breastfeed him with a fake breast, but neither of their attempts work. As Mario finds a watermelon and feeds it to the baby, Kamek arrives and sics his Toadies to take the child, but he burps out flames, burning them: Mario fed him with a Red Watermelon. As Mario and his friends are distracted by the strange new enemies, Kamek, frustrated by his minions' incompetence, casts a sleeping spell on the heroes, then orders his Toadies to take the baby.

Due to the cries of Baby Mario being taken away, the group wakes up and sees Kamek flying away with the baby. Hungry, Yoshi notices a bubble containing something floating towards them and eats it: due to it being a morph bubble, Yoshi turns into a helicopter and the heroes follow the kidnappers in the sky. Mario then feeds a green watermelon to Yoshi, making him spit seeds at the Toadies and Kamek, who then plummet straight into a fortress. Yoshi and his friends also crash into the palace when the morph bubble effect runs out.

Inside the fortress, the heroes follow the cries of Baby Mario, who is floating in a bubble inside a room, where they are attacked by Burt the Bashful. He quickly squashes Mario, and when Yoshi tries to stomp on him, his squishy body bounces him against a wall. Seeing an Egg Plant in the room, Luigi tells Mario to use the eggs and throw them at Burt, but he dodges it by skipping around the room. When Mario tosses him more eggs, they just bounce back at them. Mario then suggests jumping at him all together, but in doing so, they all grab the only thing they can, his pants, and accidentally pull them down. Burt shrinks down in embarrassment from being naked and, while Yoshi retrieves Baby Mario from his bubble, Mario punches Burt, taking advantage of his small stature, but ends up piercing him like a balloon, making him fly all over the room, hitting and hurting them.

Meanwhile, Bowser disappointingly retrieves Kamek and his Toadies, who fell in the Red Blargg-infested lava pits.

Stage 3[edit]

Start of chapter 3

どうくつ対決バトル!パワフル赤ちゃんベイビーだいかつやく!! (Cave showdown! A Powerful Baby in action!!)

After a little incident in which Yoshi gets short on eggs to throw to a Piranha Plant because his friends feasted on them, and after being saved from the Piranha's jaws, he got burned by Mario's fireball, Yoshi almost falls off a cliff. With no way to cross it, Yoshi sees a morph bubble and pops, hoping to get the helicopter form again, but he is turned into a Mole Tank. In this form, he digs a tunnel under the cliff, but when he resurfaces, Kamek is waiting for him with a mallet to whack him with. No matter where Yoshi surfaces, Kamek whacks him, forcing him to take another route through the underground caves, where the transformation effect runs out.

Little does the group know, Kamek and some Shy Guys are preparing a trap, taking advantage of the darkness. They first use unsettling sound effects, first with a stereo and then by scratching glass. They then plant giant footprints, but when they are placing the second set, the heroes catch them in the act. Kamek then resorts to using his scariest trump card and then proceeds to present a small Frog Pirate: Froggy. The heroes are unimpressed, until Kamek shrinks them and lets the frog eat them.

Inside Froggy's stomach, Baby Mario ends up in a bubble crying, and Luigi is melted by the acid drops. When Mario and Yoshi start dodging the drops, Kamek (monitoring their situation with a camera probe) makes Froggy eat his Shy Guys, but Yoshi eats them all, causing him to lay a Giant Egg. Mario takes it and tosses it, but due to the softness of the walls, the egg bounces around and hits Mario and the uvula. Hearing the frog moan when the uvula is hit, Yoshi realizes that is the weak spot, but Kamek sends a Fat Guy inside, squashing them under it. Due to the thump caused by the Fat Guy falling, many eaten things emerge from the stomach, including a Super Star. Yoshi tosses it to Baby Mario (still floating in the bubble) and he turns into Powerful Mario. With his powers, Baby Mario defeats the Fat Guy, runs on the stomach walls, and beats the uvula until Froggy croaks.

With one last spasm, the frog defecates the melted Luigi, Mario, Yoshi, and Baby Mario out, causing them to revert to their original size. Kamek then orders the Shy Guys to take Baby Mario, but nobody dares to get near such smelly feces.

Stage 4[edit]

Start of chapter 4

おおボケれんぱつあかちゃんマリオごきげんとりがっせん!! (A series of big gags! Battle to win Baby Mario's ingratiation!!)

Mario and Luigi have prepared something to give the baby to eat, but Yoshi has already devoured it all. This angers the baby so much that he throws boulders at Yoshi and even threatens to go after packing his belongings in a bag. Suddenly, a group of Fly Guys pass by and snatch the child, avoiding the eggs that Yoshi throws at them. The Fly Guy takes Baby Mario to Kamek, but he is still hungry, so Kamek orders his Shy Guy to prepare a meal for him. The Shy Guy explains that he is lacking the ingredients, but Kamek does not want to hear it, and is left disappointed when it returns with a disastrous dish made of bugs and enemies. As the baby throws a tantrum, Mario and his friends arrive and start fighting with Kamek and his men.

Their bickering is put to a halt when Baby Mario grabs a Super Star, becoming Powerful Mario, and uses his strength to punch both Mario and Kamek. The two come to an understanding: they will set up a challenge to decide if the Mario Team or Kamek Team will win Baby Mario's ingratiation. First to go is Team Mario, using a morph bubble to turn Yoshi into a Car, but Baby Mario takes him apart to rebuild it in a more casual way (even leaving out his skin). Kamek goes next and lure the kids to dance with him in a samba, but then he makes the mistake of doing a naked dance, getting bit in the crotch for that.

Next is Yoshi, using his friends Light Blue Yoshi and Red Yoshi for an unsuccessful poop-joke with Brown Yoshi, then Kamek sends the Dancing Spear Guys. Luigi and Yoshi make funny faces, but nothing seems to make Baby Mario happy, instead he becomes more annoyed. Kamek then asks his minions to "release the dog": a Shy Guy takes in a Shark Chomp. He then tries to do dog tricks with him, but does not get the desired result: asking for the paw makes the Chomp bite him. When the chain snaps, the Shark Chomp starts chasing everyone. Mario initially proposes to use Powerful Mario, but the transformation has ended. Yoshi, then, starts eating Shy Guy to lay a Giant Egg, then tosses it at the Shark Chomp.

Kamek and Mario are sure the egg will not do much, but when the egg breaks on impact, it released farts Yoshi stored inside: since Chain Chomps are dogs, their sense of smell is stronger than that of humans; therefore, the smell of the fart knocks it out. Mario and Kamek decide to end it with this foolish competition and go to take the child, but in seeing him mad like an ogre for having assisted a fart joke, the two invite their rival to take the angry child.

Stage 5[edit]

Start of chapter 5

あかちゃんマリオが桃太郎ももたろうおに退治たいじはおまかせ!? (Baby Mario is Momotarō? Leave the demon slaying to us!?)

The heroes notice that Baby Mario is a bit too dirty from all these adventures, and Yoshi decides to bathe him in the river, but a floating Piranha Plant eats the baby and continues to flow down the river. While Mario comments that the Piranha Plant resembles Momotarō's peach, Yoshi quickly grabs a morph bubble and turns into a fish. Mario and Luigi hop on him and start following the Piranha Plant, but they are blocked by a Spray Fish. Yoshi retorts to the water squirts with his urine and then by spewing watermelon seeds at it. The Spray Fish laughs, and even gulps some seeds, which is what Yoshi counted on: the watermelon seeds grow, and soon the Spray Fish is defeated when an entire plantation of watermelon grows out of its mouth.

Right then, a liquid lift emerges and, grateful to them for getting rid of the Spray Fish, gives them three helpers: Poochy, an Ukiki, and a Goonie. Yoshi points out they are the same species as Momotarō's helpers, and eats up the Goonie, only to spew it out without its wings. The liquid lift then tosses them over the Piranha Plant, so they can catch it, but Kamek beats them to it. Mario sics Poochy at him, but Kamek distracts him with a bone, so Mario grabs back the Piranha Plant and (literally) protecting it with teeth and nails, manages to rescue Baby Mario. All that is left to do is to deal with the "Oni".

Playing along, Kamek summons a Lunge Fish. Without Powerful Mario, beating it seems impossible, and the Lunge Fish releases a powerful electric shock that knocks out the heroes. Only Mario is left unharmed, since the electrical stimulation helped him relax his muscles. Furious, the Lunge Fish provokes an earthquake that sends Mario straight into a Winged Cloud that releases a Blue Watermelon. After Yoshi explains its property, Mario forces it down his throat and then makes him spew ice towards Kamek and the Lunge Fish, freezing them and defeating them.

The story ends with Yoshi trying to continue the bath he was giving Baby Mario, but the river froze as well. Meanwhile, Poochy asks Mario when he and his friends will receive the kibi dango like the animal pals did in Momotarō's legend.

Stage 6[edit]

Page 84 of the Super Mario-kun volume 14. Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Bowser, and Kamek are in this picture.

ようやくさいとうじょう!? あかちゃんルイージ!! (A surprise return!? Baby Luigi!!)

Winter is coming, but with an adult Bowser and a baby living in the castle, food is running low. Bowser then suggests using Baby Luigi as bait to get money from the Mario Brothers and asks Kamek to organize a fake ransom. Liking the plan, Kamek informs a Fly Guy to send a message to Mario and his friends, while he prepares the rest. Luigi gets the message: they will need to pay a ransom and deliver the money to the flower gardens if they want to see Baby Luigi. Mario appears nonchalant and non-caring to the news, while Yoshi immediately goes to a casino to get more money by gambling, but he loses all. As Luigi cries for being destined to be overshadowed as the secondary protagonist, Mario pulls out a giant Moneybag (taken from Luigi's bank account).

Once they arrive at the meeting place, they spot Baby Luigi, but when they go to pick him up, they discover him to be Kamek in disguise. The heroes are then surrounded by Dizzy Dandies, who start spitting mucus at them, then even the Blow Hards attack them with their Needlenoses. Yoshi pleads Mario to do something, but Mario states that he is already protecting the money and has secured Baby Mario by putting fake feces on his head to disgust the enemies, but seeing as the enemies are plants, they are not disgusted by what is their fertilizer and the Dizzy Dandies nab Baby Mario. A Bandit then swoops in and takes the moneybag.

In the confusion, Yoshi points to a Tulip and Mario tosses him in to hopefully multiply him, but a few Baby Yoshis come out from it. Angry, Mario punches the air, accidentally ripping a flower that belonged to a Flying Wiggler, angering it. In its rage, the Flying Wiggler also hits [Bowser's Minoins]], and Kamek drops both the baby and the money the Bandit passed him. Mario jumps in to take it, but the Bandit sprints past him and catches both the baby and the money, fleeing to Bowser's Castle. At Bowser's Castle, he congratulates the Bandit for catching both their prey, but notices that the baby he snatched is Kamek. Sighing that at least they got the money, they open the bag, only to find a lit bomb inside that explodes in their faces. Back at the flower garden, Mario explains that he never brought money in the first place and realized instantly that it was a trap: Luigi's money is still safe and sound in his bank account.

Stage 7[edit]

Start of chapter 7

しんライバル? ドンキーコングあらわる!! (A new rival? Donkey Kong appears!!)

Mario and Yoshi are flying towards the Mushroom Kingdom to meet up with Princess Peach. Yoshi asks Mario if he can eat and he gives him the OK, but Yoshi starts eating the plane's tail, making them crash-land onto a jungle island. After yelling at Yoshi, Mario notices a young monkey lying unconscious on the ground and tries to nurse him, but a barrel with the letters DK violently shakes towards them. Mario kicks it away, breaking it and freeing a confused Donkey Kong inside. DK then notices Diddy Kong and assumes that Mario did something to him, angrily throwing barrels at him. Mario dodges them and the barrels hit Diddy instead, waking him up. Panicked, Diddy explains to his buddy that his Giant Bananas have been stolen. As DK is about to direct his anger at Mario again, Cranky Kong, DK's elderly grandfather, arrives, calming him down, then he hugs Mario, telling him he has not aged a bit: he reveals he was the original Donkey Kong he fought since the arcade era, much to Mario's surprise. Cranky then asks Diddy to explain: he claims that, while guarding the banana hoard, the Kremling Krew barged into the cave, beat him up, and stole all the bananas, including the giant ones. Cranky then asks Mario if he can accompany his stupid, hotheaded grandson to take back the stolen goods. Mario initially refuses, but when Cranky promises them to provide them with a plane once the Krew is defeated, he accepts.

While looking for the Kremlings, Mario asks Diddy how they are made. He proceeds to list numerous negative adjectives, causing some nearby Kritters to come out of hiding to teach him a lesson. DK goes for a punch, but a Kritter dangles a banana in front of him, distracting him enough to hit him with a mallet. As the Kritter now faces Mario, he asks Cranky how to deal with them. Cranky points to an animal crate, where he can find an Animal Friend that would help him. Mario breaks the crate, freeing Rambi, rides him, and plows over the Kritters.

With the Kremlings taken care of, Cranky points to a trail of bananas: following those, they will reach the lair of the Kremling Krew and retrieve the stolen bananas. About to depart, Yoshi starts eating the trail of bananas, getting yelled at by Mario.

Stage 8[edit]

Start of chapter 8

げきとう!マリオアンドドンキーぐみVSたいノーティおや!! (A fierce battle! Mario & DK vs. the Gnawty family!!)

Mario is tired of walking, so DK has to "motivate" him with a pair of strong Hand Slaps that vigorously shakes the earth. Disturbed by it, an Army pops from behind a bush and balls up. Mario and Yoshi laugh at it, but DK quickly climbs a tree, stating that when balled up, the Army attacks by rolling, and Mario and Yoshi are hit by the rolling enemy. Diddy arrives with a TNT Barrel and DK tosses it at the enemy, defeating it, but also injuring Mario and Yoshi.

Continuing on their journey, the four arrive at a fork in the road: one that goes inside a cave and one that requires climbing uphill. When DK states that there should not be enemies inside, Mario and Yoshi enter the cave, while the Kongs, laughing at their ingenuity, take a chain of Blast Barrels to the top. In the cave, Mario and Yoshi get scared when the looming shadow of an enemy appears on the wall, but Yoshi discovers it to be a baby Gnawty playing with a flashlight that can just squeak loudly. Mario chases it and kicks it in the head, causing the Gnawty to go crying to its mother, making Mario laugh, but he stops when the mother Gnawty reveals herself to be the enormous and angry Very Gnawty.

Yoshi sees her having one of the Giant Bananas and, understanding that they are friends with Kongs, therefore her enemies, Very Gnawty attacks them. DK and Diddy, still getting shot one barrel after the other, are blasted inside the cave, landing on Very Gnawty's head. DK tries to use a bunch of TNT Barrels, but the baby Gnawty makes him flinch when it loudly squeaks, making him drop the barrels in Very Gnawty's hands. When she is about to toss them at the heroes, Mario gets an idea and throws a fireball at the barrel, making them explode in the Gnawty's hands, blowing up both mother and child. The first Giant Banana has been retrieved, even if burnt from the explosion.

Stage 9[edit]

Start of chapter 9

おいしいかた!? エンガードはすいちゅうせんだいとく!! (A great ally!? Enguarde is great in underwater fights!!)

Out of the cave, the group arrives at Funky's Flights, where DK's friend Funky Kong works. He asks him if he can take him with his Jumbo Barrel over to the next region over the gulf. Funky makes them board his plane, but mid-flight, he asks DK how he will pay the service, he answers that he does not have money with him. Angry, Funky Kong flips the plane, making the passengers fall down.

The heroes end up underwater. As the heroes find it hard to swim, another Animal Friend approaches them: Enguarde the swordfish. DK and Diddy hop on him, while leaving Mario and Yoshi behind, since Enguarde is a two-seater, and then leave. While Mario rages over it, Yoshi finds an animal crate that contains Enguarde. Something is not right, but Yoshi tastes Enguarde and confirms he is the real deal: the Kongs were riding a fake. Riding Enguarde, Mario and Yoshi manage to make their way between the school of fish with his sharp bill.

Soon, the three reach the Kongs, tied up to a rock: they explain they were riding a remote-controlled Enguarde and got caught and tied by someone: that someone arrives and it is revealed to be a Croctopus who coils Mario in its tentacles. Yoshi frees him by biting it, but then it starts spinning like a sawmill, knocking him out. Mario hops on Enguarde and tries to escape, but a Clambo stops them and, with its pearls, also breaks the swordfish's bill. The Croctopus laughs, but Mario states that Enguarde has spare bills: he then plants a pig snout onto him, making the Croctopus laugh even more, then it lunges at them. Right then, Mario places a metal drill. Unable to stop, the Croctopus gets too near and Mario and Enguarde execute a Superstab, defeating the enemies, whose tentacles remain stuck on Enguarde's new bill.

Later, on the beach, Yoshi is trying to roast the tentacles, but does not detach them from Enguarde's bill, roasting him as well, and getting yelled at by Mario and the Kongs.

Stage 10[edit]

Start of chapter 10

ゆうえんよりたのしい!? トロッコでおおしょう!! (More fun than an amusement park!? A big showdown with minecarts!!)

Having reached the Monkey Mines, the group arrives to a section with mine carts. DK and Diddy hop in the first one, and Mario and Yoshi in the second one. At one point, Mario and Yoshi's cart goes in a different set of tracks: DK tells them that they are for a fun ride, but filled with enemies. Mario tries to pull the brake lever, but ends up breaking it. Suddenly, a couple of Krashes are coming towards them, but Mario pulls another lever and their mine cart jumps over the Krashes.

The Krashes, however, tie their convoy to Mario's cart. As the first Krash tries to invade their cart, Mario asks Yoshi to wait, then, as soon as they are going uphill, tells him to cut the rope, and he does. The Krashes all plummet down the tracks. Without the Kremlings ballasting them, however, the cart has now taken speed, right during a downhill section, at a crossroad, they even bump into the Kongs, where the two groups try to jump over the other, crashing midair. As Mario turns to yell at the Kongs, his cart goes into a low tunnel, making him bash his head on the ceiling.

Their next obstacle is a hole in the tracks, but Yoshi fails the jump and they both plummet in a bottomless pit. A Krash laughs at them, but they return to the tracks thanks to a extra life balloon. The chase continues, with many Krashes at their tail, but the exit is in sight, just one last jump. Mario performs the jump successfully, but then notices that the exit sign is located in the mouth of the area's boss, Master Necky. Luckily, being immediately followed by pursuing Krashes and the Kongs, all the enemies and mine carts end up clogging Master Necky's beak, and Mario, Yoshi, DK, and Diddy come out unharmed by the situation.

Stage 11[edit]

Start of chapter 11

ノーティのぎゃくしゅう!ドンキーは!? (Gnawty strikes back! Is DK immortal!?)

Now at Millstone Mayhem, Mario and Donkey Kong start bickering because the latter did not share his shaved ice with the former and even blamed him for the brain freeze he got by eating it fast. A Mini-Necky drops a boulder on them, killing DK. As Mario screams in horror, Diddy breaks a nearby DK Barrel, and DK is back in action, alive and well: if a Kong dies, he can be brought back by breaking a DK Barrel.

As now Mario argues with DK for worrying him, a millstone moved by Very Gnawty's baby rolls towards them. Abusing Donkey Kong's newfound immortality, Mario shoves him towards the stone wheel to momentarily stop it, giving them time to escape. When the millstone returns, Mario asks Yoshi to eat it, but he refuses; even when Mario hypnotizes him, he is unsuccessful. To avoid the millstone, Mario jumps and holds onto the panel's frame, but the frame collapses and Mario falls onto the side of the millstone, tipping it over.

The troubles are not over yet, as the Gnawty returns with friends on multiple millstones. Mario finds another DK Barrel, breaks it, and DK is once again used as a human shield. The millstone Gnawties trample and trip on him, ending up stacking one on top of the other. Using Yoshi as a bat, Mario then sends the millstones flying over the temple walls. One of them reveals a room filled with bananas. Mario, Yoshi, and Diddy collect and feast on them.

Donkey Kong, from another DK Barrel, asks to be released to join the fun, but Mario states that he ate his shaved ice so he is satiated, laughing at him.

Stage 12[edit]

Start of chapter 12

マリオアンドヨッシー、いのしんじつ!? (The truth behind Mario & Yoshi's meeting!?)

Yoshi hurt his leg and asks Mario to carry him on his back, but he refuses. Yoshi gets angry, recalling that he has helped him since he was a baby. Mario asks for a clarification, and Yoshi shows him a photo of them on Yoshi's Island. Donkey Kong asks how the two met, and Yoshi tells him.

When the Stork was delivering Baby Mario and Baby Luigi to the Mushroom Kingdom, Kamek swooped in and took one of the babies, not noticing the other until the stork dropped them when it screamed. Baby Mario landed on Yoshi's back on Yoshi's Island. The Yoshis, playing (and almost eating) him, discovered from a letter in his bundle that stated the baby's name and where he was supposed to be delivered in Mushroom Kingdom. The Yoshi decided to take him to their parents, but by then, Kamek already sent his minions to take the baby.

A Fire Piranha Plant appeared and the Yoshi passed the baby behind them to protect him from its flames, but the last Yoshi accidentally handed him to the Toadies. After defeating the Piranha Plant with a Ground Pound, Yoshi turned into a helicopter thanks to a morph bubble and, aided by two of his friends, chased the Toadies. After defeating them with a red watermelon and then saving Baby Mario with their tongues, the Yoshis were taken down thanks to an Incoming Chomp.

On the ground, Kamek was waiting with numerous Shy Guys. To avoid the Shy Guys taking the baby, the Yoshis started to pass him and kick him around like a soccer ball. Taken by the enthusiasm, Yoshi accidentally kicked him straight into a rock, then Kamek blew a bunch of Fuzzies at them, so that he could collect Baby Mario undisturbed. However, in the rock, Baby Mario found a Star that turned him into Powerful Mario, allowing him to defeat the the minions all by himself. The Yoshis then decided to give him a bunch of Stars and let him do the journey by himself.

Yoshi concludes his story and Mario agrees: he should pay back all that kindness, then he and Donkey Kong proceed to kick Yoshi like a soccer ball, while he asks why he chose to tell that story.

Stage 13[edit]

Start of chapter 13

大乱戦だいらんせん!マンキーアンドダムドラムをたおせ!! (Great melee! Defeat Manky Kong & Dumb Drum!!)

Following the banana trail up the mountain region, the heroes arrive at Kremkroc Industries, Inc., a factory built by the Kremlings. Inside the facility, the lights suddenly go out, and when they return, DK is full of bruises. Mario laughs at him, but when the lights go off and turn back on again, he is the one that got beaten up. Mario accuses DK, but he claims innocence. The light goes off again, but Diddy is ready and turns on the light switch, revealing a unusual-looking Kong about to punch DK: Manky Kong.

Manky Kong runs away and everyone chases after him. Manky jumps on a chain and DK tries to bounce on a tire to reach him, but slams into a wall, as Manky jumps off the chain. Mario and Yoshi go after him, but Manky activates some oil drums, bursting them into flames, but Yoshi eats them and burps the flames onto him, defeating him.

Diddy then spots the Giant Banana, but as they approach it, the boss appears: Dumb Drum. It unleashes a bunch of enemies he was storing inside itself, alongside a bunch of other things, among which there is a TNT Barrel that Mario uses to defeat the enemies released. As Dumb Drum prepares a new batch of enemies to release, Yoshi sits on its hole and farts in it, stopping it. Angry, Dumb Drum starts stomping all over the place, squashing Diddy.

DK arrives, armed with a steel keg, but he slams face first against Dumb Drum and the barrel rolls away. Mario jumps on it and, juggling on it, rolls at top speed against Dumb Drum, defeating it. Another Giant Banana is retrieved, but now Mario is unable to stop the keg, juggling around the factory.

Stage 14[edit]

Start of chapter 14

ゆきやまきょうてき!スノーコングのしょうたいは…!? (A formidable enemy on the snowy mountain! What is the true identity of Snow Kong…!?)

Not far away from Donkey Kong Island, on the Gangplank Galleon, a Kritter is informing his supreme leader, King K. Rool, that the Kongs are slowly but surely taking back what they stole from them. Unbothered, K. Rool assures him that he prepared a plan to stop them.

The heroes have reached Gorilla Glacier, where the Kongs have the chance to finally see the snow up close for the first time. DK then slips down a hill, and crashes against a giant snowman of himself. As he claims his face is not that unattractive, the Snow Kong comes to life, offended, and punches him. Angry, DK tries to break it with a Roll Attack, but, due to the snow, ends up turning into a snowball, stopping right at the Snow Kong's feet. The Snow Kong then kicks it away and DK, defeated, switches to Mario.

Mario is not as fortunate and his head gets squashed by Snow Kong's hands. Diddy is next, and he finds an animal crate with Winky inside, but due to the cold temperature he goes into hibernation and goes to sleep underground. The Snow Kong then punches all four of them, head first, into the snow. Yoshi ends up gulping down some snow and lays a frozen egg. He then throws it with much force against the Snow Kong, but it grows bug wings and flies over the egg.

Snow Kong laughs, but Mario makes him notice that the egg just landed on a Blast Barrel directed at it. Snow Kong is hit and is destroyed, revealing a Zinger inside. Hearing that, Winky pops out to eat it and then returns to sleep.

At the Gangplank Galleon, K. Rool has witnessed the fight and angrily promises that he will beat them all in the next volume.

4-koma[edit]

ディディーの4コマランド (Diddy's 4-koma-land)

  1. 主役しゅやく (Protagonist): Dixie informs the reader that DK has been kidnapped. Mario and Yoshi offer to help, but she states that this is a job for Diddy, as he now has become the protagonist. This news gets over Diddy's head, and he is now acting like a big, rich celebrity.
