It was published monthly by Wanpaku Comic from 1986 to 1988, back when the company had the rights to create a Super Mario manga from Nintendo. It contained stories based on Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. After finishing its run, Sawada started a new series, Super Mario Bros. 3, but it ceased after two issues as the company shut down the magazine.
