Chapters[edit]
Stage 1[edit]
After the events of the last chapter, Mario, Wario, and Yoshi are organizing to go to Kitchen Island, using the Wanderin' Goom (only survivor of the battle) as a guide. Yoshi fabricates a boat and the group heads to the Brown Sugar Pirates' island. Once in sight of Kitchen Island, Wario notices the boat is melting: only then does Yoshi reveal that he made it out of mud, much to Mario's exasperation. The group sinks to the bottom of the ocean, where Yoshi decides to eat the Wanderin' Goom, having served its purpose. In a desperate attempt to be spared, the Goom points to a "more delicious seashell". Yoshi gets near it, but it is revealed to be a Muncher that starts chomping on Yoshi. The Goom tries to escape, but he is caught by Yoshi's tongue and later burned, alongside Yoshi and the Muncher, by Mario's fireball.
In the meantime, Wario has spent the time collecting the coins around them and finds a strange creature similar to a mussel and tries to eat it. The creature, which presents itself as a Helmut, urinates in Wario's mouth, hurting him and reverting him into Tiny Wario's form. The Helmut calls his friends and they all attack Mario (since Wario hid behind a rock). With the help of Yoshi's fart bubbles, the Helmuts are defeated, but a giant Helmut, the mother, appears. Being scared of her giant spikes, Mario, Yoshi, and Wario flee, finding another underwater enemy, a Pinwheel. Seeing Mama Kurara approaching, Mario grabs the Pinwheel and tosses it at her, cutting her in half. In a boomerang effect, the Pinwheel comes back and, right before he can cut off Mario as well, Wario, having found a Viking helmet, becomes Bull Wario and crushes the enemy.
Stage 2[edit]
With a paper boat made out of CoroCoro mangas, the trio continues their journey to Kitchen Island, but the paper boat quickly melts in the water. Wario holds onto a log that refuses to share with Mario and Yoshi, but the latter eats it. Mario then pulls out a Frog Suit to swim towards shore, but the other two jump in the suit as well, stretching it and finally breaking it. The suit's burst sends the trio flying right onto Rice Beach.
After agreeing they should stop fighting for everything and actually cooperate with each other, they start collecting the coins they find on the beach. A group of Pirate Gooms notices them and one of them tosses its spear towards Mario. Unaware of the attack, unlike Yoshi, Mario leans forward to collect a coin and the spear hits Wario, shrinking him down. Being powerless, Wario joins the Pirate Gooms, much to everyone's shock. While the Gooms argue with Wario about his decision, Mario attacks them, neutralizing all of them and running away. Wario tries to reunite with them after taking the coins, but he is slowed down and reached by the Gooms.
Mario and Yoshi hide behind a rock, which is actually the tip of a Yadorā's shell. The Yadorā grabs Mario and flings him up and down. Meanwhile, Wario finds another Viking Helmet and uses it. With his now regained strength, Bull Wario defeats the Gooms and destroys the Yadorā's shell, saving Mario, but the crab is not in the shell. One of the Gooms explains that Yadorā quickly grow and have to find a new house, like the pile of rocks behind them. The large Yadorā hits Wario, turning him back into Tiny Wario and then turns to face Mario. While avoiding its rocks and being pinched by the claws, Mario asks Yoshi to read in a guide how to defeat a Yadorā: Yoshi reads that they either have to hit the back of its shell or toss a 10-Coin at it.
Unable to hit the back, Mario decides to go for the 10-Coin strategy. When Yoshi asks him how, he hits Wario on the nose with a stick, turning him into a 10-Coin. Mario then proceeds to slam Wario onto the Yadorā and the remaining Goom, defeating them and knocking Wario out cold.
Stage 3[edit]
In order to make sure Wario does not backstab them during the quest, Mario has created a stick with an urchin shell on the tip, in order to stab him and revert him to Tiny Wario, much to his annoyance. Proceeding into a cave, the trio finds a treasure chest, and Wario runs towards it, stepping on quicksand and dragging in Mario and Yoshi in an attempt to escape. Luckily for them, the sinking stops, but a Muncher emerges, keeping them trapped in its maws. Two Guragura come out to laugh at their misfortune, and when Wario asks them to free him so he can join them, Mario threatens him to pull out the spiky stick again. This gives one of the Guragura an idea to beat them repeatedly with his chained spiked ball.
During the beating, the Guragura accidentally hits a Face Block, releasing a Viking helmet that lands in Wario's mouth, growing him into Bull Wario, breaking the Muncher's mouth and freeing them. After beating up the Guragura, the two surrender their chest to Wario, who runs to open it, only to reveal a Penkoon inside which starts shooting spike bombs at the trio. Wario dodges them with a jump, only for his horned helmet to leave him stuck on the cave ceiling.
One of the explosions reveals another chest in the sand, and inside of it, Yoshi finds one of the stolen treasures: the "Dreaming Harp". In an attempt to send the enemies to sleep with a nice song, Yoshi strings the harp, but only Mario is affected by it. While the Penkoon, under the two Guragura's orders, prepares to bombard them with a bunch of spiked bombs, Yoshi shakes and hits Mario, yelling at him to do something. Angered, Mario grabs Yoshi and opens his mouth towards the enemies, making him gulp all the bombs. Mario then tosses the bomb-filled Yoshi at the pirates, defeating them. Now that everything is solved, Wario asks Mario to help him get down from the ceiling and Mario uses the spiked stick to revert him to his Tiny form, much to his annoyance.
Stage 4[edit]
With Bull Wario proving himself useful with his strength, Mario starts to feel jealous of him. Yoshi then finds a vending machine called "Super Metroid Box" which can give the user Samus's Power Suit in exchange for a coin. Mario immediately tests this, pays a coin to the machine, and a Power Suit appears on him. Mario declares to feel much more powerful and Yoshi tests it out by pounding the helmet with a hammer repeatedly, but when it stops, he notices Mario without the suit and with a bunch of bumps on the head. Only then, Yoshi notices a tag on the machine explaining the suit only lasts 10 seconds per coin. After paying 100 coins, Mario regains the Suit and the journey continues.
A giant cliff is the new obstacle for the group to face, and the Power Suit only slows Mario down, prompting him to put away the suit. Meanwhile, Wario found a Jet Pot and has become Jet Wario. He flies to the top of the cliff, leaving Mario and Yoshi behind. Yoshi asks Mario if he has some flying power-up with him and Mario finds in his pocket his old yellow cape, but due to it being old and torn up, Mario cannot use it.
Mario resorts to climbing the cliff, stepping (and farting) on Yoshi, much to his annoyance. As though the climb could not be any more stressful for the two, a Watch starts pestering Mario by pooping and pecking him in the head, making him first fall onto Yoshi and then off the cliff. Much to Mario's luck, he happened to land on a Chicken Duck’s basket head and, when the Watch goes for another peck, Mario wears the Power Suit helmet, against which the Watch breaks its beak, then Mario puts the helmet on the enemy, confusing it, and then finishes it by tossing a bunch of 10-Gold Coins at it. Yoshi then climbs on the Chicken Duck and thanks to it, the two reach the top of the cliff, where Wario awaits them, entangled by the helmet wings in the branches of a dead tree.
Stage 5[edit]
Another dark cave appears in front of the heroes, and when Wario refuses to go first, Mario pinches him with the spiky stick to revert him to his Tiny form, using his shiny bald head as a torch. To humiliate him further, Mario even scares him with his shadow puppets. When another shadow appears, Wario yells at Mario to stop, but Mario is innocent: the shadow belongs to a Demon Bat. With its poisonous tail, the Demon Bat swoops towards Mario, but he ducks down and the Demon Bat stings Wario, turning him into a bear: being a novice in cursing people, the Demon Bat not only has turned Wario into the wrong thing, but even after a beat down is not able to revert him to normal. Not knowing what to do, the trio proceeds deep into the cave.
Mario reassures Yoshi that they will not get lost, having marked their path by leaving a trail of coins, coins that Wario has greedily picked up. Not only that, but the three seem to have reached a dead end, but the wall standing in front of them is actually a Pouncer who starts crawling towards them. Mario tries to stop it by tricking him into play green light, red light, but it works for a short time. While running, Wario bumps his head against a Face Block, obtaining a Viking helmet that not only cures him of the bear form, but also turns him into Bull Wario.
Bull Wario jumps at the Pouncer, but he gets stuck to its forehead by the horned helmet. Following a suggestion by Yoshi, Mario grabs a hammer and pounds Wario deep into the Pouncer's forehead like a nail, eventually crumbling the enemy into pieces. After getting out from the rubble, the trio finds a way out of the cave.
Stage 6[edit]
トゲブロスの
Spiked Koopa is taking a relaxing bath in his cave, when a Wanderin' Goom comes to warn him that Captain Syrup is video-calling him. Worried about making her angry, Spiked Koopa goes to answer, but still gets yelled at for keeping his guard low, also promising that, in the case he fails to stop Mario, she will personally punish him by tickling his weak spot.
Mario, Yoshi, and Wario, in the meantime, have found a 10-Gold Coin on the beach, but noticing something suspicious in the sand underneath it. Wario executes a ground pound, revealing a Maizō. Sure that it has more coins with it, Wario and then Mario rough it up until the Maizō promises to lead them to a cave where they can get more coins. The trio accepts the offer and, once reached, they adventure into the cave, not noticing the Maizō grinning. After traversing the cave onto a Conveyor Belt, the trio arrives at the bottom of the cave, where they are ambushed by Spiked Koopa, who tells them that they will get the coins they are looking for after they defeat him. The heroes are not worried by his appearance, but when his shell and helmet grow spikes, they try to escape, only to find the exit blocked.
After Spiked Koopa takes care of Wario, Mario tries to burn him with his fireballs, but his shell is impervious to any attack and, after hitting Mario and Yoshi, Spiked Koopa dives in the sand. Yoshi follows him, while Mario awaits him to emerge armed with a hammer, but ends up pounding and knocking out Yoshi, while Spiked Koopa jumps at him from behind. Spiked Koopa roars triumphantly, while the Wanderin' Goom compliments him, screaming that now Syrup will not punish him by tickling his weak spot, the belly. Having heard that, Mario jumps back in action and punches Spiked Koopa in the stomach, exploding him into coins. Mario and Wario rejoice, until Yoshi notices that the coins are worthless, having Spiked Koopa's head engraved on them.
Stage 7[edit]
After traversing Lake Asparagus, the heroes decide to reach the top of Mt. Teapot, above which a flying saucer is floating. To reach the top, Wario points to a waterfall and suggest using koinobori costumes to climb the waterfall like carps. Yoshi is dumbfounded by this idea, but it actually works. During the climb, Wario is met face first to falling rocks, one of which contains a Jet Pot, turning him into Jet Wario. Mario and Yoshi grab onto his legs and Wario takes off, but due to their weight, not only he ends up crashing on a small plateau a few meters away, but also hurts himself back to Tiny Wario form.
Yoshi proposes to take a break, pulling out some kashiwa mochi to eat. After a while, Mario notices a chest on the other side of the river. Wario runs towards it, but Mario makes him notice that the river current is too strong to swim across it and they could be dragged down the waterfall they just climbed. Having eaten a lot of the mochi sweets, Yoshi uses his obese body to cross the river without flinching at the current, but some Gooms come out from behind the chest and start poking Yoshi with their spears, keeping him away from their treasure chest, forcing him to retreat. While thinking of the next move, a Watch shoves Mario into the river, but he manages to land, legs spread, on two rocks, while Tiny Wario hides from the bird.
The Watch then proceeds to peck at Mario's legs and crotch, and even scribble on his face with a marker, until Mario falls in the water and is dragged away. Yoshi throws at him their last remaining kashiwa mochi, revealing it is made of special leaves. Getting the hint, Mario grabs the Super Leaf and turns into Raccoon Mario. Flying and twirling his tail, Mario beats the enemy group and obtains the treasure chest, of which the content is playing cards, video games, and toys: the pirates' childhood treasure.
Stage 8[edit]
Now at the top of Mt. Teapot, Mario and Yoshi notices that Tiny Wario has grown some hairs. Yoshi realizes it is mold and, in an attempt to shake it off, it ends up on him and Mario. Yoshi then notices an underground cave with a sign claiming the presence of a thermal spring. The trio enters and watches as a Koopa Troopa jumps into the boiling springs, only to emerge as a Dry Bones. Now worried, the heroes decide to continue by crossing a bridge, but a couple of Guragura pop in front of them and destroy the bridge, making them fall into the boiling water.
Mario and co., however, reemerge back fully replenished and clean by the hot bath, completely unharmed. As they are about to make the moles pay for the trap, a giant Togemaru appears to foil their plan. Mario attempts to buy time by faking confusion with its name, continuing to make wordplays with it. Angered, the Togemaru bounces on top of them, to the point of burying Mario's head into the ground. As Mario pulls his head from the ground, he discovers that his head crashed into a buried treasure chest, inside of which he found another treasure, the Mithril Crown, using its power to explode the enemies (and his friends).
As Mario and his friends recover from the blow, Minotaur, the area boss, is watching them, promising to give them a Game Over when they will soon meet.
Stage 9[edit]
Continuing from where the last chapter ended, the trio discovers that the Mithril Crown can grant three wishes, so they are left with two thanks to the fight with Togemaru. Yoshi ends up wasting the next two wishes by first asking for a popsicle and then a back scratch, forcing the Mithril Crown to fall asleep. While Mario is berating Yoshi for his actions, the saucer that had been floating above the mountain starts to float down, revealing who has been piloting it: Minotaur, another commander of the Brown Sugar Pirates. With the crown out of the game, Minotaur lands the saucer on the crater of Mt. Teapot, causing the water of the inground springs to burst in flames, while an arena pops at the center of it, where Minotaur invites Mario in a sumo match.
Mario first tosses Yoshi at the arena to avoid the fight, but Minotaur demands him, after slapping Yoshi into the lava. Not having another choice, Mario is launched by Wario onto the arena. Despite Wario's aid and his determination, Mario is too weak against Minotaur, and he is also tossed in the lava. Minotaur then turns to invite Wario, but he has chosen the cowardly way out, by dressing as a cow and promising his loyalty. Just then, Mario and Yoshi rise from the lava inside a giant Heart they found underneath, saving them from a scorching end. Minotaur is ready for a rematch, but Mario has now figured out his weakness: he then slams Yoshi against the arena, tilting it with such force that Minotaur is sent flying against the ceiling, getting his horns stuck to it, then proceeds to burn him with his fireball.
Yoshi then asks angrily why Mario did not use the fireballs before tossing him twice, while Mario chases Wario for his attempted betrayal.
Stage 10[edit]
Mario is visiting the Big-City with Yoshi. After all his numerous battles, Mario is in serious need of new clothes and enters a boutique shop run by an admirer of his, Pauline. Due to a sign, not allowing dinosaurs and gorillas, Yoshi awaits Mario outside, while Donkey Kong, disregarding the sign, enters, looking to buy a tie. To spite him, Mario passes him a spiked collar and a chain. This angers Donkey Kong, who then proceeds to steal a tie and kidnap the shop owner, then runs away, stomping over Yoshi. After aiding his companion, Mario chases him down. After asking for direction to some citizens, Mario notices that the last one they talked to was Donkey Kong with just a pair of glasses as a disguise and follow him inside a construction site.
By the time the two heroes enter, Pauline is locked inside a trailer, while the ape has climbed on top of the girders with the key and a bunch of barrels. Donkey Kong tosses one barrel that lands on Mario's head, covering it. Not being good at catching it with his hands, Mario uses his feet to catch the next incoming barrel, whose content (petrol) ends up all over him, while Donkey Kong throws a Fireball at him, igniting him. Donkey Kong then throws a barrage of barrels, but are all eaten by Yoshi, leaving him without ammo.
Mario then proceeds to climb a rope to reach him and the key, only to realize he was climbing a snake. Scared, Mario bumps against Yoshi, making him burp out a trampoline. Mario uses it to reach the top, but hits his head on a block, which releases a Super Hammer. With that, Mario pounds Donkey Kong so hard, the floor beneath him collapses, making him fall down with pieces of the girders. When Mario comes down, he realizes that the key is now under the debris and starts looking for it with Yoshi, while Pauline shakes her head from inside the trailer.
Stage 11[edit]
With the way they entered Mt. Teapot blocked by the saucer, the trio is wandering through the hot caves until they find an open skull door leading to the icy Sherbet Land. After getting accustomed to the cold temperature, Wario and Yoshi start skating in the tundra, when they are attacked by a group of Harisu. Using Tiny Wario as a bowling ball, Mario skids him on the ice, striking the Harisu down.
A voice then rumbles, claiming that Bucket Head will soon face them, but when the heroes turn, they find a small snowman at their feet and laugh at it. Angered, the Bucket Head starts rolling in the snow until it becomes a giant. Still not threatened by his appearance, the trio creates an igloo-refugee in his belly, only for the Bucket Head to flops forwards and squash them out. The trio attempts to escape, but the Bucket Head throws 4-pointed snowflakes at them, hitting Wario and Yoshi and turning them into snow sculptures. Mario manages to avoid the one aimed at him with his fireballs, barely managing to melt it.
As Mario backs away from the Bucket Head, he trips onto something: another buried treasure, the Hero Shield. Using it, Mario manages to deflect another snowflake, which bounces back and hits the sender, turning the Bucket Head into a bigger snow monster. Armed with a 6-pointed snowflake, the Bucket Head hits Mario, turning him into a snowman. As the Bucket Head laughs triumphantly, Mario starts rolling towards his friends, creating a bigger snowball and rolls against the monster. All four then roll towards a pond, which is revealed to be another hot spring, melting them all back to their normal forms and melting the Bucket Head's body and temperament.
Stage 12[edit]
ヒンヤリ
After creating a sleigh powered by Jet Wario's hat, the trio continues exploring Sherbet Land, until they crash against an ice wall, causing Wario to revert to his Tiny form. From the ice wall, Yoshi finds another treasure: a lamp. Following his suggestion, Mario rubs it to see if it contains a genie, but instead Donkey Kong comes out, ready to get revenge for the humiliation of two chapters ago. He then summons a bunch of Fireballs, but they end up melting the ice he was standing on, dropping down into the freezing river and becoming an ice cube.
Just then, Penguin appears and challenges Mario to a boxing match on his makeshift ice arena. Mario accepts, regretting the decision as he sees the spiked box gloves the boss has. To aid him, Wario tosses Yoshi at Mario and, as usual, Mario uses Yoshi to parry the hit and then uses him as a weapon to pound Penguin. Penguin then takes an electric helmet and uses it to stun Mario in place and pummels with punches. Wario grabs a Jet Vase and, in Jet form, flies over Penguin and steals the helmet to give Mario a chance. Penguin then pulls out a giant boxing glove, while Wario flees, much to Mario's disappointment.
After the giant punch, Mario tries to use a giant fireball against the boss, but he dodges it. However, the flames instead hit the frozen Donkey Kong, freeing him. Now more mad than before, Donkey Kong runs over and squashes Penguin while trying to reach Mario. Quickly, Mario uses a marker to disguise himself with rakugao makeup and points Donkey Kong towards Wario, claiming it is Mario to punish for his cowardice. Fooled by the disguise and the lie, Donkey Kong starts chasing Jet Wario, while Mario and Yoshi prepare for their next stop towards Captain Syrup.
Stage 13[edit]
ワリオの
In the Peaceful Woods, fairies like Wanda live in harmony under the rulership of the fairy elder. Suddenly, the perennial-clear skies of the Woods darken and, with the rain and storm, a bunch of monsters led by Wario attack and take over the forest, renaming it Wario's Woods. The elder tries to stop Wario, but is turned by his black magic into a watering can. Being too weak to do anything, the elder instructs Wanda to call Mario and his friends to stop the fiend. Wanda immediately flies to the Mushroom Kingdom, only stopping after being swatted by Mario who mistook her for a mosquito.
Yoshi recognizes her from their previous encounter, and she explains the situation. Without thinking twice, Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Toad prepare for their quest to save the Peaceful Woods at Princess Peach's castle. Mario even prepares a bag full of power-ups and the Super Scope, but complains to Yoshi for preparing just a bag with food, telling him to leave it. Being in a hurry, Luigi accidentally grabs the food bag, leaving the power-up bag at Peach's.
Having reached the entrance of the forest, Mario asks his friends to be as quiet as possible to not let the enemies locate them. By the pressure, Yoshi lets a fart out and Mario goes all out on him, attracting the attention of Wario's first minion: Fauster. After stabbing Mario's bottom for his loud yelling, Fauster summons a bunch of monsters. Wanda warns them that the monster can turn them into mushrooms if they are not careful enough, but Yoshi and Toad have already succumbed to this fate. Mario asks Luigi to pass him the Super Scope, but only then does Luigi realize he has grabbed the wrong bag.
With Mario thinking they are done for, Wanda uses her fairy magic to summon some bombs which Mario uses to explode the monsters. Fauster then summons even more monsters, but Wanda and Mario do not give up and, after a quick action, the monster (and Mario) blows up and Yoshi and Toad return to normal. Luigi is confused by what happened, so Yoshi shows him a slo-mo: as the monsters were charging, Wanda summoned, under Mario's request, a bunch of bombs that he then glued together and then kicked and the enemies, only to find his foot trapped in the glue, exploding with the monsters. While the fairy elder, still in a watering can form, takes care of Mario's burns, Yoshi notices that Fauster disappeared. It is then shown that Fauster was summoned by Wario, turned into an anmen and eaten by his boss for failing his duty.
Stage 14[edit]
マリオは
While Wanda scouts ahead to check for enemies, Mario and his friends are waiting patiently for her return, all the while they are trying to keep at bay a hangry Yoshi. Wanda is then ambushed by a Fuzz armed with a bug spray and tries to trick the heroes by disguising as her. The heroes are fooled, but do question how Wanda has become fatter. The Fuzz lies about dining in a nearby restaurant, causing Yoshi to madly bite it into telling them where it is located. The Fuzz lead them to a fast food restaurant, which is promoting an inaugural free all-you-can-eat buffet.
As the heroes enter, some mechanical hands grab them and start cooking them: Mario is breaded and tossed into a frying pan, Luigi is covered in barbecue sauce and put on a grill, Toad is oiled in a salad, and Yoshi boiled into a pot. The disguised Fuzz arrives with the restaurant owner: Boom, one of Wario's minions, ready to gobble them up. Mario tries to escape, but is caught by Boom's fork, but just as he is about to get eaten, a bomb appears on Boom's head, making him lose his prey. Wanda is back, saved by Birdo, who came to help her beloved Yoshi. As she sees him boiling in a pot, Birdo starts bombarding Boom with her eggs, but using his magical fork, Boom turns the projectiles into egg-based dishes, then turns Birdo into an octopus.
Mario, freed from the breading, asks Wanda to pass him some bombs, but after throwing them at Boom, he spears them with a skewer, sending all of them back to Mario, blowing him up. Realizing he is too much to handle, Mario invites his friends to run away, but with a swing of his magic fork, Boom turns all of them (minus Wanda, possibly immune to his magic) into foods: Yoshi turns into a carrot, Luigi into lettuce, Toad into a mushroom and Mario into a salami. Mario tries to wiggle away, but is caught and mercilessly eaten by Boom.
Wanda approaches Boom menacingly, only for them to offer him some vegetables to balance his diet, having just eaten a big piece of meat. Boom kindly accepts, much to the confusion of the others, but Wanda reassures them. As Boom eats all the greens offered, Wanda yells at his belly that she puts carrots into it. Mario, inside the stomach, bites them and turns in back into a human with the Bunny form, escaping from Boom's mouth. As Boom attempts to gobble him again, Mario tells him that Wanda left another surprise with the vegetables: a nice big bomb. Boom then explodes: of him only a roasted pig ready to be eaten. Meanwhile, Wanda uses Boom's fork to turn everyone back to normal. Only then, Birdo realizes Yoshi is missing, with Luigi also remembering that he was turned into a carrot. As Mario realizes what he has done, Yoshi, with a piece of his snout bitten off, emerges from the cooked Boom. At this, Birdo yells at Mario to spit out what he has bitten off of him.
Stage 15[edit]
ゴーラ
Wario is relaxing at his castle (a birdhouse, the poorest castle he can earn in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3) he made in Wario's Woods, served by his monsters. A Dovo flies in to tell him that Mario and his friends have reached Goro's village, and Wario follows it to the location. The now desolated and withered Goro's village is the Peaceful Woods' fairies hometown, said to be protected by the god Goro, whose statue is honored by the fairies. Wario arrives, landing on top of the statue and, after trapping Wanda inside a bubble, he gives energy to the statue, causing it to move and attack the heroes. Due to the statue being made of rocks, Mario's punches cannot damage him, and with Wanda trapped in the bubble, she cannot summon bombs outside of it.
While Mario is mercilessly pounded by Goro, Yoshi, Birdo, Toad, and Luigi are kept from running away from a sea of monsters, which keep their distance at the grotesque sight of Mario's bruised face. Wanda, seeing a withered tree nearby, floats near it and then flows her magic in the roots, causing the tree to return to bloom and grow bombs as fruits. However, the bombs are not doing damage to Goro, but Wanda instead tells Mario to blow up the numerous monsters. Mario and Luigi follow her directions and the enemies drop Diamonds, and with diamonds being harder than any rocks, they can use them to beat Goro. Unfortunately, Yoshi's gluttony causes him to eat the Diamonds, turning him into Daiya Yoshi.
Wario rejoices, seeing the victory ahead, but Mario stuffs Yoshi into Birdo's mouth to make a makeshift bazooka with her and launches Daiya Yoshi against Goro, finally destroying him. Wario flees and Goro's village is turned back to its former glory, with the statue's head even smiling at this, before going back to be inanimate. In respect to the divinity, Mario decides to build the statue back, but he clearly fails at it, considering the job done after attaching limbs to the head and even ignoring many parts.
Stage 16[edit]
This chapter is an alternative prologue of the Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 arc.
Mario and Yoshi have acquired a guided tour to Kitchen Island by a Koopa Troopa with glasses, with the promise of keeping all the valuables they will find on the trip. However, as Mario and Yoshi start collecting the gems, coins, and treasure chest on the beach, they discover they are all fake props, only to turn and see their guide rowing away with their ticket money. The Koopa Troopa gets his own share of karma when he is attacked by a bunch of Helmuts, but this also means that the beach fauna will also prevent Mario and Yoshi from returning to the mainland.
After taking care of the critters with a fireball, Mario notices a fruit hanging from a tree, but when Yoshi goes to bite it, it is revealed to be Tiny Wario's bottom and some Goombas (that Yoshi later eats). Mario asks Wario if he was also conned by the tour guide, but he explains that he came to the island to steal the local pirates' treasure and build a castle with the profits. He also asks Mario to help him, but he refuses, until Peach calls him to tell him that the pirates have stolen a golden statue of herself and taken to Kitchen Island. Reluctantly, Mario accepts to help Wario.
Happy, Wario grabs from a Face Block a Garlic Pot to grow and use his Dash Attack to defeat the enemies, but he is stung by a Dropper, reverting to Tiny Wario. A new adventure begins for Mario, Wario and Yoshi.
