A Fuzzy, also referred to as a Watabo[1] or Puff-Ball,[2] is an enemy in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its remake. They are furry spore-like creatures and the only members of Dudim Phreykunoutonthis.
History
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island / Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
Fuzzies are enemies in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its remake. They are always found in groups. Fuzzies first appear in Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy and return in GO! GO! MARIO!!, Beware The Spinning Logs, and Fight Toadies w/ Toadies, the latter appearing only in the remake. Should a Yoshi touch a Fuzzy, the screen becomes distorted,[3] showing bright colors as well as a twisted display; this likely references the effects caused by psychedelic drugs such as LSD or psilocybin mushrooms. Yoshi fumbles around in this state, also struggling to utilize eggs, and the music becomes distorted. Should a Fuzzy be eaten, it produces a cloud of gas that can defeat enemies behind it.[4]
Super Paper Mario
A Sammer Guy in Super Paper Mario is called "Staggering Dizzy Fuzzy" as a reference to Fuzzies.
Unused appearances
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Fuzzies were meant to appear in Mario Kart: Super Circuit, appearing in the same code as elements from Sky Garden. By modifying the game, it is possible for them to appear in the track.[citation needed]

- Shogakukan guide: さわったり食べたりすると、毒にやられて景色がグニャグニャに見える。たくさんいるので、手におえない。[5] (When you touch or eat them, you will be poisoned and the landscape will look squishy. There are so many of them that it is unbearable.)
- Player's Guide: They won't hurt Yoshi, but they'll definitely warp his world! They drift down in droves and are very hard to avoid.[6]
- Shogakukan guide (Game Boy Advance version): さわったり食べたりすると景色がグニャグニャになり、操作がむずかしくなる。ちなみに、食べるとオナラが出て、これを敵に当てれば倒せるぞ。[7] (When touched or eaten, the scenery becomes squishy and it becomes difficult to control. By the way, when you eat, gas comes out, which you can use to hit enemies to defeat them.)
