Beanbean Fields, originally known as Beanbean Outskirts or Outskirts of Beanbean Kingdom,[1] is a series of grasslands that surrounds Beanbean Castle Town in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and its remake. It borders Hoohoo Mountain and Teehee Valley to the north, Chucklehuck Woods to the west, Oho Ocean to the east, and Beanbean International Airport to the south. Woohoo Hooniversity is located in the southeast corner of the region, while Yoshi Theater lies in a box canyon to the north. Warp Pipes can be found in the northwest and southwest, as well as a small cave on the beach in the east.
Mario and Luigi first reach Beanbean Fields after descending to the bottom of Hoohoo Mountain. It primarily serves as a hub, since many areas of the Beanbean Kingdom are connected to it. After the Beanstar shatters, one of the pieces lands in Harhall's Studio in the south. However, Harhall finds it first, and he won't give it away unless the brothers help him with his Splart project. The Mario Bros. also explore the fields to search for Bean Fruit, which are needed to get the Yoshis at Yoshi Theater to lay Neon Eggs.
The Hammerhead Bros., who are first met in their house in Hoohoo Village, eventually move here, making their new home in a cave in the eastern part of Beanbean Fields. Mario and Luigi can visit them here after mastering the hand techniques at Oho Oasis to receive Super Hammers. They must return to this area after reassembling the Beanstar to obtain Ultra Hammers, which are necessary to access Joke's End.
