"Birdo (Grey)" refers to a specific Birdo that spits fireballs in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic and Super Mario Bros. 2. Due to palette limitations in the original games on the Famicom and NES, Birdo (Grey) appears green in some contexts and was initially recognized as a green variety of Birdo in the original Doki Doki Panic.[3] She is recognized as a gray variant in the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia and Mario Portal.[29] Unlike other gray-colored variants in these sources, the British "grey" is employed instead of the American "gray." She is not to be confused with the Birdo (Green) of subsequent games.
