A Muddy Buddy[1] is an ally in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its remake. This purple creature appears in Sluggy The Unshaven's Fort only, as well as in Mystery of the Castle? in the remake. A Muddy Buddy will stick to Yoshi's feet on contact, though this allows Yoshi to cross spikes safely. Yoshi can stop riding it with a Ground Pound. Unlike Poochy, another rideable creature, Yoshi can control the Muddy Buddy.
