The Mario Kart 8 Championship 2014 was a competition held by news website Nintendo Life in collaboration with the official Nintendo UK online store.[1] It consisted of four online Mario Kart 8 tournaments, referred to as heats, which served as qualifiers for a final held live at EGX London 2014; to qualify for the finals, players had to place first to third by number of circuit points at the end of a heat.[1] Nintendo Life covered travel and accommodation expenses for the qualifying players.[1]
