Template:Kart-infobox Template:Articleabout The Standard ATV, known outside North America as the Standard Quad, is a type of ATV that is introduced in Mario Kart 8. The Standard ATV is seen as a counterpart to the Standard Kart and Standard Bike as it is balanced in stats. It shares its stats with the Steel Driver, Tri-Speeder, Badwagon, and GLA.

Most CPU-controlled characters will always pair the Standard ATV with the Monster tires, but some CPU-controlled lightweight characters (most notably the baby characters) will use the Standard tires with this vehicle body instead.

Trivia

  • In the Koopalings' artwork, Morton Koopa Jr.'s Standard ATV is shown to have a black body while in game it is green.
  • Although the Standard ATV is classified as an ATV vehicle, it can be used by the player and CPU in "Karts Only" races.
  • This is the only "Standard" vehicle to have a four stroke engine.
    • When idling, it sounds like a single-cylinder, but when moving, its sound is more reminiscent of triple-cylinder.
