Cat Mario looks at the Lakeside Giga Bell in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
The Giga Bell in its corrupted state

The Giga Bell is a power-up exclusive to the Bowser's Fury mode of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. It transforms Mario into Giga Cat Mario, although its power can only be accessed by collecting Cat Shines, with the required number increasing as the story progresses; it is initially five before changing to fifteen, then twenty, then forty, and finally fifty. Unlike most power-ups in the series, it is capable of speech.

By default, the Giga Bell resembles the standard Super Bell, but is much larger and has cat ears, whiskers, green eyes, a more orange coloration, and a much deeper ring, complete with a low-pitched meowing sound. This appearance is achieved when Mario has obtained enough Cat Shines to use it and Fury Bowser is attacking; this is the only time Mario can use it. It rests on a golden, Sphinx-like pedestal with a short staircase leading up to the top, sometimes with a few Coin Stacks resting beneath. When Mario does not have enough Cat Shines, however, the Giga Bell is corrupted by Fury Bowser, becoming black and spiky, with a dark purple aura surrounding it; if Mario touches it while it is in this state, then he takes damage. After the main story is completed, if Mario has enough Cat Shines in his possession but Fury Bowser is inactive, then the bell will remain inactive, but take on a gray, stone-like appearance; a Super Bell can be obtained by Ground Pounding atop it while it is in this state.

A total of three Giga Bells (the Lakeside Giga Bell, Ruins Giga Bell, and Wasteland Giga Bell) exist throughout Lake Lapcat, each one surrounded by its own group of four islands. The number of Cat Shines required to make a corrupted Giga Bell active is displayed if Mario stands in front of it. Normally during gameplay, the name of a Cat Shine mission is displayed as the objective, but at other times, the "(number) Outline of a Cat Shine from Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury to awaken" objective may be displayed instead.

In the final boss battle of the mode, Giant Bowser gathers all three Giga Bells to prevent Mario from using them and encases them in a crystal ball. Mario must ram Plessie into the ball multiple times until it breaks and Plessie and Mario both simultaneously collect all three Giga Bells, defeating Bowser.
