Rome Avanti is a race course in Mario Kart Tour. It is based on the city of Rome, Italy, and as such takes racers round many landmarks and sites from the city, such as the Colosseum. The course made its debut in the Night Tour, and is the second city course to not debut in a tour named after the city, the first being Athens Dash. It is also the first city course to debut alongside a classic course since Paris Promenade, over three years earlier. The course is the sixth European city course and is the first of them to be set at night. "Avanti" in the course's name is an Italian word that roughly translates to "onwards", making this the first Mario Kart course to feature a non-English word in its English name. The starting line for this course resembles the front side of the Pantheon.
The course has three routes, Rome Avanti, Rome Avanti 2, and Rome Avanti 3. The first two debuted together in the Night Tour while the third debuted in the 2023 Anniversary Tour. The first route takes racers through the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and Piazza del Campidoglio, the second route takes them through the Spanish Steps, the Villa Borghese gardens, and some of the city's piazzas, and the third route takes them through the Trevi Fountain, Trajan's Market, the Colosseum, and Piazza Navona. Additionally, the second route starts in the opposite direction compared to the other two. Rome Avanti 3 was effectively treated as the course that capped off new content for Tour, as its normal variant was in the third cup of the 2023 Anniversary Tour and not the first (unlike the other new city course routes that debuted alongside it), and its R/T variant was the final course of the entire tour.
Excluding courses announced simultaneously, this course and Squeaky Clean Sprint mark the shortest period of time between the announcement of two new courses for the Mario Kart series, with only a 16-hour gap, beating the previous courses with this distinction, Piranha Plant Cove and Yoshi's Island, by five days. Despite the Template:Media link for the course featuring being set in the course's first variant, it includes a Chain Chomp, and a corresponding Chain Chomp warning sign, which appear in Rome Avanti 3. This suggests the teaser art combined elements of the first and third variants for the artwork, despite the third variant not debuting until the 2023 Anniversary Tour.
Rome Avanti is the only city course in Mario Kart Tour that never had any of its routes featured in Coin Rush.
Rome Avanti and Madrid Drive are the only city courses from Mario Kart Tour that have yet to reappear as a classic course in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass DLC.

Rome Avanti

Like in the first route, the course starts in Via del Corso, this time facing Piazza del Popolo. The player takes a right turn in Piazza del Popolo to enter Piazza di Spagna, with the Fontana della Barcaccia visible on the right, and then a slight left turn to the Spanish Steps. After going up the steps, the player takes a left turn and enters the Villa Borghese gardens where they make a left U-turn around the lake near the Temple of Aesculapius. Afterwards, the player returns to Piazza del Popolo, passing between the Flaminio Obelisk and Porta del Popolo to Piazza Navona. In Piazza Navona, the player can either drive to the right or left of the center of the piazza while they avoid Rocky Wrenches. After the road meets up, the player passes through Campo de' Fiori, where they must take a sharp left turn by either going around the Monument to Giordano Bruno and avoiding some barrels or taking a shortcut through the market. After driving though a thin road to the right of the Mouth of Truth, the player takes a right and left turn leading to the finish line.
This route also appears as Rome Avanti 2R (reversed), Rome Avanti 2T (with ramps), and Rome Avanti 2R/T (reversed with ramps).

The course starts in Via del Corso, facing the Victor Emmanuel II Monument. Near the starting line, the player takes a sharp left turn which takes them to a Glide Ramp to glide over the Trevi Fountain. Afterwards, the road turns right in Trajan's Market and heads towards a metallic bridge in the Colosseum with two Chain Chomps biting the sides. After exiting the Colosseum, the road takes the player to Piazza del Campidoglio, where they take a right turn into another road leading to Campo de' Fiori. After a sharp right turn in Campo de' Fiori, the player reaches another Glide Ramp to glide over Piazza Navona, where there are two circular tracks with some Fuzzies circling coins near the Fountain of the Four Rivers' obelisk. After taking a sharp right turn in Piazza del Popolo, the player reaches the finish line.
This route also appears as Rome Avanti 3R (reversed), Rome Avanti 3T (with ramps), and Rome Avanti 3R/T (reversed with ramps). In the T variant, Note Blocks are added over the Trevi Fountain and in the Colosseum, while two rolling Chain Chomps are added in Piazza Navona, circling the three fountains. In the R/T variant, colored Water Geysers are added in the Trevi Fountain.
