Amsterdam Drift 2 is a race course featured in Mario Kart Tour. It is the second route for Amsterdam Drift and as such is named after and inspired by Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It debuted in the Metropolitan Tour alongside Berlin Byways. Similar to a few city courses such as Paris Promenade 2, Amsterdam Drift 2 is played backwards compared to the original route. The course also appears as Amsterdam Drift 2R (reverse) and Amsterdam Drift 2T (with ramps). This course marks the shortest period of time between the release of the original route and a subsequent route for a city, debuting less than two months after the original Amsterdam Drift in the Amsterdam Tour.
The majority of this course is set underwater in the canals of Amsterdam, making this the second city course with mandatory underwater driving, after Singapore Speedway. Unlike Singapore Speedway, however, racers are fully submerged underwater.
This course is a favorite of Toadette (Explorer), Baby Mario (Koala), Penguin Mario, Penguin Toadette, Rosalina (Volendam), Daisy (Farmer), Rosalina (Chef), and the Gold Mii Racing Suit.
Course layout
In the standard layout, the racers start the course on Damrak street, in between the Royal Palace of Amsterdam and De Bijenkorf, but unlike the first Amsterdam Drift, racers now head away from Amsterdam Centraal Station, where they then take a slight right turn before heading into the Singel canal. Racers take a sharp left turn in the canal and maneuver in between many warp pipes with currents coming out of them. A serpentine turn is taken before heading to a straightaway. Here, racers can choose to drive out of the water via a current and onto a boat on the canal briefly. Passing the boat, there is a fork in the road where players can either go straight ahead, and then take a 90 degree left turn, or take a 90 degree left turn earlier, and then take a right turn again after. When both routes meet up again, they lead to a ramp that leads out of the canal again, and back to the surface outside the Amsterdam Centraal Station. One final left turn is taken before reaching the finishing line.
Appearances
Metropolitan Tour
In the Metropolitan Tour, Vanilla Lake 1 was one of the two signature courses of the Metropolitan Tour, the other being Berlin Byways; however, it was not the tour’s thematic location. It appeared as the first course in the Mario Cup, the second course in the Baby Luigi Cup, and the location of the bonus challenges in the Yoshi Cup and the Toadette Cup. Its R variant appeared as the first course in the Luigi Cup and the second course in the Cat Peach Cup, and its T variant appeared as the third course in the Luigi Cup and the second course in the Yoshi Cup.

Trivia
- Amsterdam Drift 2 is one of three city courses that did not have an R/T variant in the course's debut tour. The other two are Tokyo Blur 3 (whose R/T variant would later debut in the Mario vs. Peach Tour after the course's debut in the Summer Festival Tour) and Berlin Byways.
