His most well-known roles include Peter Quill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Emmet Brickowski in the animated The Lego Movie franchise, and Andy Dwyer in the Parks and Recreation television sitcom. 2014 is often cited as the turning point when Chris Pratt became a leading actor in the American film industry.[1]

In 2021, Chris Pratt was revealed as the voice actor of Mario in Illumination's untitled Mario film scheduled for release in 2022, with Mario's regular actor Charles Martinet being relegated to unknown cameo appearances.[2] Chris Pratt states that voicing Mario had been his childhood wish; in an Instagram story, he relates that he stole a quarter from a wishing well in order to play VS.
