- Not to be confused with Boss Blitz Galaxy.
Boss Blitz, or World Flower-12, is the twelfth and final course of World Flower in Super Mario 3D World. Being given only 500 seconds in total, the player must rematch the bosses King Ka-thunk, Pom Pom, the Hisstocrats, Boss Brolder, Boom Boom, and Motley Bossblob. It is unlocked via completion of Spiky Spike Bridge Sneak. Beating this level will unlock the rocket to World Crown, if the player has collected all of the Green Stars, Stamps, and Gold flags in the game, excluding those of World Crown. This is the only level in both World Mushroom and World Flower that is not remade from an existing level. When the player gets close to the level via the overworld, Bowser's laugh can be faintly heard.
It bears many resemblances to a galaxy of roughly the same name from Super Mario Galaxy 2, the only difference being that Boss Blitz has the player battle bosses from the same game, while Boss Blitz Galaxy instead features bosses from its respective game's predecessor, Super Mario Galaxy.
Layout
The course begins on a grassy platform with six Warp Boxes, one with a key. Each Warp Box leads to a boss fight, with a Key Coin awarded if the boss is defeated. The bottom left box leads to King Ka-thunk, the top left leads to Pom Pom, the top right leads to Boss Brolder, the bottom right leads to Boom Boom, and the center box leads to the Hisstocrats. After all the Key Coins are collected, the unlocked Warp Box leads to the sixth and final boss fight of the level: a second rematch with Motley Bossblob. Upon his defeat, a Warp Box appears, leading to the Goal Pole. All boss battles are fought in the same manner as they originally are, with the exception of the Hisstocrats, as they are fought at the same time, and Motley Bossblob, who uses his strategy from the second battle rather than the first, but his shockwaves are further and faster.
