A Bob-omb Car[1], also known as a Bomb-car[2], is a vehicle resembling a Bob-omb found in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Mario Kart Wii. It is found in only three courses: Mushroom Bridge, Mushroom City, and Moonview Highway. This variety of car is only found driving on the main streets, not on shortcuts like the rest of the vehicles.
Bob-omb Cars have also appeared in the Mario Kart Wii competitions. The competitions that they appeared in included September 2008 and May 2009's first competitions.
The effects of hitting a Bob-omb Car has the same effect as getting blown up by either a Bob-omb or a Spiny Shell. Hitting the car with an item such as a Yoshi Egg, Green Shell, Red Shell, Bowser Shell, or Fireballs will also cause the Bob-omb Car to explode. Despite having a lit fuse, a Bob-omb Car never explodes on its own.
Once a Bob-omb Car explodes, a new one appears after some seconds on the road. In Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, they appeared from certain hidden passages on certain racecourses, while in Mario Kart Wii, they just appeared in random locations. On the Mushroom Bridge pipe shortcut, the Bob-omb Car will come out of the entrance, when someone hits one of the existing bombs. In Mushroom City, the Bob-omb Car comes out of the alleyway on the left when players go down the hill and onto the left when someone hits one of the existing bombs.
The Bob-omb Car bears a resemblance to the Mini Bomb Kart, which appears in Mario Kart 64.
