All ATVs differ from karts and bikes in many ways. While driving an ATV, characters are able to perform [[wheelie]]s, which boost the player's speed temporarily. If an ATV is rammed into while doing a wheelie, the player will lose speed and have to accelerate again. However, it is unknown if ATVs emit blue sparks when [[drift]]ing and release a small mini-turbo. It is also unknown if ATVs can emit yellow sparks for powerful mini-turbos. Some ATVs can drift in instead of drifting out.

All-Terrain Vehicles, shortened as ATVs (known as quads outside North America) are vehicles used mainly in Mario Kart 8, alongside karts and bikes. They are four-wheelers of many different colors and have features that differ from karts and bikes. They are set to make their debut in Mario Kart 8.

The basic model of the ATV for all characters is the Standard ATV, a motocross four-wheeler showing the emblem of the character over the plate of the front and the sides of the rear. The color of a Standard ATV also changes, matching the character's custom color.

All ATVs differ from karts and bikes in many ways. While driving an ATV, characters are able to perform wheelies if they use a speed boost. If an ATV is rammed into while doing a wheelie, the player will lose speed and have to accelerate again. However, it is unknown if ATVs emit blue sparks when drifting and release a small mini-turbo. It is also unknown if ATVs can emit yellow sparks for powerful mini-turbos. Some ATVs can drift in instead of drifting out.
