Rainbow Road is the fourth and final course of the Special Cup in Mario Kart 8. Like Rainbow Roads in previous Mario Kart titles, this Rainbow Road takes place in space, along with Mario Kart TV satellites and space stations. In the background lies the Earth, similar to that of Rainbow Road from Mario Kart Wii.
Course Layout
The course starts out in front of the rainbow-colored track. Followed by the start line is the 8-shaped turn which encompasses the anti-gravity section. At the end of the track lies the gliding pad that leads the drivers to the space station. After that drivers will land on the place with M logo in white color carved in it. The space station contains conveyor belts, which is similar to the one in Toad's Factory course in Mario Kart Wii. At the end of the conveyor belt lies two gliding pads which will lead to three mechanical star rings that will lead to two different paths depending on wich gliding pad you take. Then the two paths corkscrew around eachother and then join into a tight spiral turn into the finish line. There are three laps in this course.
Shortcuts
Since the game hasnt been released yet there is no way of knowing for sure if there are any shortcuts altough it does seem that it might be possible to jump from one track to another after the star rings as these two path corkscrew around eachother.
