Grindrails are long, thin stretches of track in Mario Kart World that can be used to perform a "grind", which gives the driver a Mini-Turbo. Most grindrails can only be accessed via a Charge Jump, while some, who emerge from the ground, can simply be driven on. Grindrails are often naturally integrated into the environment, whether that be as guard rails, pipes, power lines, or actual railway tracks, and generally serve as alternate paths[1].
