The Mr. Scooty (written as Mr Scooty in the British English version) is an unlockable standard bike body that appears in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It is a small, blue toddler toy scooter with a yellow seat that has the Mario Kart logo engraved on both sides of it, a silver backrest, and red inner tires. The emblem is located on the headlight. It has the same stats as the Biddybuggy and Landship. It is one of three vehicles to have the Mario Kart logo engraved, the others being the Teddy Buggy and Sneeker. It appears to be a thematic successor to the Quacker from Mario Kart Wii, albeit as an outside drift bike.
The Mr. Scooty's biggest strength is its acceleration bonus, along with a handling bonus that is slightly lower than that of the inside drifting bikes. As a trade-off, however, it lowers speed, weight, and traction, and it is the lightest vehicle part in the game. This is the only non-DLC bike in the game to affect the ground speed stat. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it is still seen with the highest acceleration boost, as well as being the lightest vehicle part and is now seen with the highest handling boost. It now has a higher boost in anti-gravity speed, anti-gravity handling and traction, though it now decreases speed in the water and air. Its engine sound is shared with the Standard Bike which is a single cylinder naturally aspirated; however, its exhaust sound is higher-pitched.
In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, CPU Lakitu, Baby Rosalina, Lemmy, Baby Luigi, Toadette, and Peachette can be seen using this bike body. The first three pair the Mr. Scooty with Standard tires; Baby Luigi uses the Roller tires and Toadette and Peachette use the Azure Roller tires respectively instead. The Mr. Scooty now only shares stats with the Biddybuggy. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 200cc staff ghost for Piranha Plant Slide has Wendy ride the bike with Metal tires and the Peach Parasol.
