Madpoles[1] are enemies in Super Mario 3D World and its port. Their name is a combination of "mad" and "tadpole". These turquoise tadpoles swim calmly on the water surface. If they spot Mario or another playable character, they swim to them, and will keep doing so if Mario dives into the water, trying to ram him. Madpoles can be defeated by any attack.
In the Super Mario Mash-up in Minecraft, Tadpoles are replaced by Madpoles.
