Giant cannons[1] are mega-sized cannons which fire giant cannonballs. They appear in Super Mario Bros. 3, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and New Super Mario Bros. U exclusively as large horizontal cannons that resemble black (blue in reissues) pipes; however, in Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Maker 2, they are redesigned and can also face diagonal.

In Super Mario Bros. 3, these cannons appear in the World 8-Tank and World 8-Ship levels. In Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3's World-e, they also appear in Bowser's Airship 1 and Bowser's Airship 2.

In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, giant cannons appear in the World 8-Airship level. In New Super Mario Bros. U, they appear in The Mighty Cannonship.
