- Not to be confused with Boomerang Bro Cup.
The Boomerang Cup is a cup that appears in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as part of the Booster Course Pass DLC. It is the second of two cups in the fourth wave of the DLC, being released alongside the Fruit Cup, the eighth cup of the pass overall, and the twentieth cup of the game overall. Like most cups in the pass, it only features classic courses. Excluding the Extra Cups in Mario Kart: Super Circuit and the cups in Mario Kart Tour, this is the third cup in the Mario Kart series to feature two classic courses from the same game, after the Lucky Cat Cup and the Moon Cup, as it features two courses from Mario Kart Tour: Bangkok Rush and Singapore Speedway. This is the first cup in the pass to feature two city courses from Mario Kart Tour, and thus the first cup in the Mario Kart series to have one of the course prefixes repeated. This cup is also the only cup released during the 2023 half of the Booster Couse Pass not to feature a course introduced in Mario Kart Wii. The emblem of the cup is a Boomerang Flower, making the Boomerang Cup one of the two cups in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to have a kind of flower as its emblem, alongside the Flower Cup. The decorations on this cup's trophy are yellow.

Trivia[edit]
- In the game's data, the filenames for Tour Bangkok Rush, DS Mario Circuit, GCN Waluigi Stadium, and Tour Singapore Speedway all imply that they were originally set for different placements in the pass (the first course of the Cherry Cup, the third course of the Fruit Cup, the second course of the Moon Cup, and the first course of the Boomerang Cup respectively). Internal data also suggests that GCN Daisy Cruiser, GBA Riverside Park, and Tour Los Angeles Laps (which are the second course of the Feather Cup, the second course of the Fruit Cup, and the first course of the Cherry Cup in the final version respectively) were intended to be the last three courses of this cup.
