Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii version): Shadow the Hedgehog fencing with Wario
Individual epée in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games

Fencing is an Event class that appears in several instalments of the Mario & Sonic series, focussing on events based around the sport of fencing. The class first appeared in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games with the event Individual epée, and returned in the Nintendo DS version with its own variation of the same event. The class returned in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, now with the event Fencing - Epée, and later appeared in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 featuring Fencing (Individual). Fencing - Epée also appeared in the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, but was instead included in the Contact Sports class.
