The Mario Kart 8 promotion tour was a competition organized in 2014 by Gameland Events in collaboration with Nintendo as well as electronics retailers Game Mania and Fnac, and sponsored by PROG4MER.[1] Held across Belgium, the competition consisted of eight preliminary rounds of Mario Kart 8 followed by a number of final rounds; the finals occurred at the Gameland 2014 event.[1] Each preliminary round decided a winner who advanced to the final rounds. The winners then competed in pairs across a number of semi-finals, with a grand final subsequently deciding the winner of the entire competition.[1]
