The Jet Bike is an unlockable sport bike body that appears in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. As the name suggests, it resembles a fighter jet. The emblem is located on the sides of the bike. It is one of the few bikes that have an inside drift. It does not offer any ground speed boost, but does provide a strong acceleration and handling boost, at the cost of hindering weight slightly and traction heavily. In fact, the Jet Bike offers the worst traction stat of all vehicle bodies in the game. It shares its stats with the Sport Bike, Comet, and Yoshi Bike. It is one of the several vehicles in Mario Kart 8 to have a supercharged engine. The Blue Falcon has the same engine sound as the Jet Bike which is a ducted jet engine, although lower-pitched in comparison. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Jet Bike's stats have been somewhat altered, and it now instead shares its stats with only the Sport Bike and the Prancer. It now provides a small ground speed boost at the cost of still hindering weight and traction, and now hindering acceleration. However, the traction stat is no longer as weak as in Mario Kart 8. CPU Peach and Ludwig are seen occasionally using this body during races, equipped with the Slim tires. CPU Metal Mario may also be seen using this body, pairing it with the Metal tires. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 200cc staff ghost for Sunshine Airport has Luigi ride this bike with Metal tires and the Plane Glider.
