Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong jump at a Mimic in Sunset Shore of Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Two Mimics go after Donkey Kong and Diddy in Sunset Shore of Donkey Kong Country Returns

Mimics[1][2] are enemies that appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. They only appear in silhouette levels, and appear to be bushes with glowing yellow eyes and two short legs.

At first, Mimics blend in with the scenery due to their bush appearance. When the Kongs approach a Mimic, it hops up and chases them. Like most enemies, if the Kongs come in contact with a Mimic, they lose a heart point. The Kongs can defeat a Mimic from either a jump or a roll attack.

In Donkey Kong Country Returns, Mimics only appear in two levels: Sunset Shore and Foggy Fumes. In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, they only appear in one level, Busted Bayou, along with their larger counterpart, Large Mimics.
