The Crazy Eight, also known as the Crazy 8,[1] is an item introduced in Mario Kart 8. Very much like its precedent from Mario Kart 7, the Lucky Seven, the Crazy Eight gives the player eight items to use at once, circling around the vehicle where other racers can feel their effects if they run into one. The only difference between the Lucky Seven and Crazy Eight is that the Crazy Eight contains a coin item as well as the other items the Lucky Seven has.
The Crazy Eight returns in the Nintendo Switch port of Mario Kart 8, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, where it keeps the original function, although the eight now is half blue and half red, like the game's logo.

Trivia
- The Crazy Eight's logo is based on the Möbius strip, likewise with the number 8 in the main logo and Mario Circuit.
- In Hyrule Circuit and Animal Crossing, the Coin in the Crazy Eight is replaced with a Rupee or a Bell respectively.
