When a character grabs it, a double of them will appear. This double will keep the original character's state (e.g. Fire Mario will get a Fire Mario double), and moves identically to them. Though characters can have an unlimited amount of doubles, which is only based on how many Double Cherries they get, a double will disintegrate if it is harmed, and all doubles disappear when the player grabs the Goal Pole.
