The object of this mini-game is to [[jump]] from platform to platform and reach the end first while avoiding obstacles. The [[player]]s can also collect additional [[coin]]s located on few platforms. If a player jumps into a pyramid of bricks, the player will fall and will be out of the mini-game. If a player is jumped on, his or her movement and jump will be restricted, causing the player's task to be harder. However this can backfire as the bounce from the jump can cause the jumping player to lose control. The player has to be quick and not be too detracted from collecting coins as a few seconds can make all the difference. This mini-game takes place over the skies with several floating checkered platforms.

Mario Party 2:

Platform Peril is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party, Mario Party 2, and Super Mario Party Jamboree (where it is a coin-collecting minigame). This minigame takes place over the skies with several floating platforms.

Gameplay[edit]

The object of this minigame is to jump from platform to platform and reach the end first while avoiding obstacles. The players can also collect additional coins located on few platforms. If a player jumps into a pyramid of bricks, they fall and are out of the minigame. The player can also fall if they do not make the platform itself. If a player is jumped on, their movement and jump are restricted for a few seconds. The player that reaches the goal is the winner. If all the players fall off the course, the minigame ends in a draw.

In the Mario Party 2 version of the minigame, the main difference is the addition of more obstacles in the race. There is also the inclusion of moving platforms as well as conveyor belts going either forwards or backwards.

In the Super Mario Party Jamboree version of the minigame, it is now a coin-collecting minigame instead of a race to the finish. It is also much closer to the Mario Party incarnation, although the platforms are much bigger, making it harder to fall off.

In Mario Party, the minigame can be purchased from the Mini-Game House for 450 coins when it is available for purchase.

Ending[edit]

In Mario Party and Mario Party 2, the winner performs their victory animation, while any losers who did not fall perform their defeat animations. In Super Mario Party Jamboree, the players perform their victory animations. If a player has no coins, they perform their defeat animation.
