Mario Clash is a microgame found in the Nintendo Classics folder in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! that is based on the Virtual Boy game with the same name. It returns in WarioWare Gold, where it is hosted by 5-Volt.
Gameplay[edit]
Mario has to throw a Koopa Shell toward the screen such that it hits an an enemy. The defeated enemy is worth 500 points. There are no movement controls, so the challenge is about timing, not aiming. If Mario misses, the player loses the microgame.
- Level 1: The enemy is a Spike Top. It walks back and forth and passes through the target spot twice.
- Level 2: The enemy is a Boo. It floats down to the target spot once, then floats up. In WarioWare Gold, the Boo bounces off the edge of the platform even though it is in the air, offering a second chance to hit it.
- Level 3: The enemy is a Para-Goomba. It starts high in the air, and jumps around, landing on the target spot once for a short period of time. In WarioWare Gold, the Para-Goomba starts off on the ground. It also bounces off the edge of the platform even when in the air, so there is a second chance to hit it. WarioWare Gold also has the Pare-Goomba be stunned after being hit once, and the Koopa Shell bounces back to Mario. Thus, the player must throw the shell a second time to win.
