Masked Ghouls[1] (also formatted as masked ghouls)[2] are enemies in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. They are encountered in the Pumpkin Zone's first stage and final stage only. They are walking enemies wearing hockey masks with daggers stuck in them, a reference to Jason Voorhees, the main antagonist of the Friday the 13th film series. Functionally, they act the same as Goombas, and they are directly depicted as such in the Kodansha adaptation.[3]
