The Acorn Cup is a cup that appears in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as part of the Booster Course Pass DLC. It is the first of two cups in the sixth and final wave of the DLC, being released alongside the Spiny Cup, the eleventh cup of the pass overall, and the twenty-third and penultimate cup of the game overall. Like most cups in the pass, it only features classic courses. Excluding the Extra Cups in Mario Kart: Super Circuit and the cups in Mario Kart Tour, this is the fifth cup in the Mario Kart series to feature two classic courses from the same game, after the Lucky Cat Cup, the Moon Cup, the Boomerang Cup, and the Cherry Cup, as it features two courses from Mario Kart Tour: Rome Avanti and Piranha Plant Cove. The emblem of the cup is a Super Acorn. The decorations on this cup's trophy are green.

Trivia[edit]
- In the game's data, the filenames for Tour Rome Avanti, GCN DK Mountain, and Wii Daisy Circuit all imply that they were originally set for different placements in the pass (the fourth course of the Feather Cup, the second course of the Cherry Cup, and the second course of the Spiny Cup - which was originally labelled as a GCN course - respectively). Internal data also suggests that Tour Vancouver Velocity and Wii Maple Treeway (which are the fourth courses of the Cherry Cup and Rock Cup respectively in the final version) were intended to be the first and second courses of this cup. The third course also originally had no prefix attached to it, but was later replaced by Wii Moonview Highway (which is the third course of the Feather Cup in the final version) instead.
- The Acorn Cup is one of two cups comprised entirely of classic courses in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to have all of its starting lines use the same Mario Kart logo (that being the modern one), the other being the Moon Cup.
