"Chill" is a musical theme composed by Hirokazu Tanaka for the 1990 game Dr. Mario. It has since made an appearance in every Dr. Mario game to date (not counting the Gamewatch Boy version). In the original Dr. Mario, it is one of the two selectable themes, with the other being "Fever." Compared to "Fever," "Chill" is less upbeat and more slow-paced.

In this version, the bassline from the original piece is brought to the front with different instrumentation, and the percussion is now drums, while the primary track of the intro is much more subdued. The main melody is similar to the original in instrumentation, albeit slightly lower in pitch.

Super Smash Bros. series[edit]
Super Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]
Super Smash Bros. Brawl features a new arrangement of "Chill" titled "Chill (Dr. Mario)" and arranged by Masaaki Iwasaki. The arrangement includes chiptune and hard rock elements, as well as a sitar-based section and vocal scatting. It can be played on the Flat Zone 2 stage.
The arrangement returns in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, where it can be played on the Flat Zone X stage, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, now titled "Chill (Brawl)", where it can be played on any Super Smash Bros.-series and Super Mario-series stage.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U[edit]
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U features a new arrangement of "Chill" titled "Chill (Dr. Mario) Ver. 2" and arranged by the theme's original composer, Hirokazu Tanaka. It is a chiptune and EDM-inspired arrangement that incorporates the "Game Over" sound effect. It can be played on the 75m stage.
The arrangement returns in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, now titled "Chill (for 3DS / Wii U)", where it can be played on any Super Smash Bros.-series and Super Mario-series stage.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie[edit]
In The Super Mario Bros. Movie, a brief arrangement of "Chill" can be heard in the track "Fighting Tooth and Veil" when Mario flies up to Bowser's ship with the Tanooki Suit.
Other arrangements[edit]
Brain Age series[edit]
Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day![edit]
A much calmer and slower-paced arrangement of "Chill" plays in the hidden Virus Buster minigame in Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day!
According to the game's host, Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, the music is intended to enhance the relaxation aspect of the minigame.[1]
This arrangement returns in the Virus Buster mode in Dr. Luigi and Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure.
