- —Cranky Kong in Cliffy Peak, DK: Jungle Climber
A Spinner Barrel, also called a Rolling Barrel,[1][2] Rotatable Barrel,[3][4] or Rotater Barrel,[5] is a type of barrel that appears in the Donkey Kong franchise. Spinner Barrels are similar to Blast Barrels, although Spinner Barrels can actually be rotated and fired in any direction. However, some of them have a time limit (indicated by a number that appears on the barrel) to how long the Kongs can stay in the barrels. After this limit, the Kongs are launched automatically. Steerable Barrels are similar, except that their aim cannot be changed, and the player can move them around instead. Spinner Barrels first appear in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, first appearing in Barrel Bayou, and later return in Donkey Kong Land 2, Donkey Kong Land III, DK: King of Swing, and DK: Jungle Climber; none of the returning appearances have a time limit dictating how long the Kongs can be inside a Spinner Barrel.
