Eric Newsome is an American voice actor. His only Super Mario-related role thus far has been Bowser in Super Paper Mario, temporarily filling in for the departed Scott Burns before Kenneth W. James replaced the character in full. He also voiced Meta Knight from the Kirby series and Panther Caroso from Star Fox Assault in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, both portrayals reused in later games.
Newsome was diagnosed with cancer in late 2022 and currently works as an Uber driver to pay for his medical bills, due to his acting agency being on strike.[2]
