The amount of fuel in the platform is measured in five gauges. Each Fuel Barrel has some red dots indicating how many of the gauges they can refill and, in turn, their usefulness to the Kongs. From a scale from lowest to highest, one red dot fills one gauge while five red dots refill all five gauges. In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, like their debut appearance, Fuel Barrels only appear in one level, Rocket Rush. They were redesigned to have a blue paint, and are instead a fuel source for the Rocket Barrel. Fuel Barrels are less common than in Donkey Kong Country, so Dixie and Kiddy must be cautious to not release too much exhaust fuel.
Fuel Drums are objects in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. They appear only in Rocket Rush, where they are usable for the Rocket Barrel. Fuel Drums are depicted with a blue paint. They do not appear as commonly as in Donkey Kong Country.

A Fuel Drum[1] (or fuel drum),[2] also known as a Fuel Canister[3] (or fuel canister)[4] and Fuel Barrel,[1] are objects in the Donkey Kong Country series. They were introduced in Donkey Kong Country. These barrels refill the fuel supply of a specific vehicle, varying by game.

History[edit]

Donkey Kong Country[edit]

Fuel Canisters are objects in Donkey Kong Country. They appear only in Tanked Up Trouble. Fuel Canisters refill a number of gauges on a platform used by Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, that number matching the number of red dots on the Fuel Drum. Collecting nearly every Fuel Canister is required because the platform runs out of energy quickly. Fuel Canisters can depict either one, three, or five red dots. There are Fuel Canisters with two dots and four dots existing in the game's graphic data,[5] but they go unused.

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble![edit]

Fuel Drum

Fuel Drums are objects in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. They appear only in Rocket Rush, where they are usable for the Rocket Barrel. Fuel Drums are depicted with a blue paint. They do not appear as commonly as in Donkey Kong Country.
