Read the unfinished Donkey Kong Country story...and finish the adventure! (titled Read the Unfinished Donkey Kong Country Story...and then Finish the Adventure! on the browser tab) is an online Adobe Flash game published by Nickelodeon on its website, Nick.com, to promote Donkey Kong Country for the Game Boy Color.[1]
Gameplay[edit]
The player is given a short, unfinished story of six frames roughly based on the story of Donkey Kong Country, which follows Diddy Kong as he goes on an adventure to retrieve the banana hoard. The player has to complete the story by dragging and dropping three out of five images on the frames. After the story is complete, the player can play, print, or mail it to a friend. Players are encouraged to paste their printed story into a Donkey Kong Country insert in the December 2000 issue of Nickelodeon Magazine.[1][2]
Frames[edit]
The following frames are already included in the story and cannot be changed.

---|---|---|
1 | After a day in the jungle, Donkey Kong and his nephew, Diddy, returned to their treehouse and discovered their hoard of bananas was missing! | |
2 | DK said they'd have a better chance of finding their hoard if they made like a banana and split, so Diddy went off on his own. | |
3 | Diddy's jungle adventure was as hairy as DK! Around every corner was danger, like the sharp stinger of the Zinger. | |
4 | Diddy wished DK was there to help him, but he at least had the help of Rambi™ the rhino, who helped him outrun Klump. | |
5 | No bananas were in sight, so Diddy searched underwater. Aboard Enguarde™ the swordfish, Diddy eluded the jaws of Chomps. | |
6 | Diddy didn't find any bananas in the water, so he asked Enguarde to take him to shore. On dry land, Diddy saw an unbelievable sight! |
Three of the following five frames can be inserted into the story after the sixth frame in any order.

Cranky Kong™ had all of DK's bananas! "If DK could protect these, he's a monkey's uncle," Cranky said. Then again, Diddy was DK's nephew! | |
Funky Kong™ surfed in and said, "Dude, who needs all those bananas? Not only am I the big Kahuna--I'm the top banana!" | |
DK came riding in on his ostrich friend, Expresso. After all of the excitement, Diddy was relieved to see DK. Plus, DK could give him a lift! | |
King K. Rool™ appeared out of nowhere! The big, bad Kremling leader wanted their bananas, and DK was going to make a monkey out of him! | |
Diddy couldn't believed he had found all the bananas! DK wanted to see if his little nephew could brave the jungle, and Diddy passed the test! |

Trivia[edit]
- Frame 4 mentions Klump, though the image uses stock artwork of Kannon instead, despite that being a variation of Klump from the second game.
