Zazz is an unlockable playable character in both the Nintendo 3DS version and Wii U version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. In the handheld version, Zazz is playable in Table Tennis and Table Tennis Plus only, and is unlocked if the player beats him in a Table Tennis Plus match on Day 2 of Sonic's story. In the console version, Zazz is playable in Table Tennis only, and he is unlocked after losing to the player in Table Tennis.

Zazz is a playable character in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. Like the previous game, Zazz is playable in Table Tennis only. Zazz can be unlocked by defeating him in Table Tennis as Vector in Chapter 7 of Story Mode.
