Butterfly Blitz is a Battle minigame in Mario Party 4.
Introduction[edit]
A butterfly is seen flying by in closeup. The camera zooms out, and the players, each with a net, swing the nets down and to the left.
Gameplay[edit]
The objective of the minigame is to catch the butterflies to gain points within the time limit. Players can swing their nets in one of two ways to catch the butterflies; vertical swings can catch butterflies higher up in the air, while horizontal swings cover a wider radius in front of the player. Butterflies of different colors have different point values. Yellow butterflies are worth one point, red ones are worth two, and blue ones are worth three. The player(s) who has/have the most points win(s).
Ending[edit]
The butterflies quickly fly away, and the players' nets disappear. The players line up, each with a jar in front. The butterflies they collected fly out one by one, adding up the points to their scores. Yellow butterflies emerge first, followed by red, then blue. When a player has no butterflies left, their jar disappears. After all the butterflies are counted, winners do their victory poses while losers do their losing poses. If everyone has the same score, everyone does their losing pose.
