The Soda Jet is a kart in the Mario Kart series. As its name states, it resembles a jet plane in the shape of a soda bottle, and uses actual jet engine sounds for its own engine. The emblem is located on the wings and either side of the tailfin.

History[edit]

Mario Kart 7[edit]

The Soda Jet debuts in Mario Kart 7 as an unlockable kart part that offers a speed and acceleration boost, while hindering weight and off-road very slightly.

In gameplay, the CPU-controlled Koopa Troopa and Bowser have a higher chance of driving a kart with this body, using the Paraglider and either the Mushroom or Wood tires for Koopa Troopa, or the Standard tires for Bowser. In terms of hidden stats, the Soda Jet excels poorly underwater, but strongly in the air. In fact, the Soda Jet has one of the best air speeds of all kart bodies, being tied with the Pipe Frame and Cloud 9 for air speed, and the Cloud 9 for air handling.

Mario Kart Tour[edit]

The Soda Jet returns in Mario Kart Tour, where it is classified as a Super kart. It uses the Sponge tires from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and increases the duration of Mini-Turbo speed boosts and the number of points resulted from Mini-Turbos. The game introduces a blue variant named the Blue Soda, which is classified as a High-End kart.

The Soda Jet can normally be obtained from the Shop's pipes and Daily Selects. It was also available as a tour gift for Gold Pass subscribers after earning 120 Grand Stars in the Marine Tour.
