A Barney Bubble[1] is an enemy in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its Game Boy Advance version. Barney Bubbles are purple with blue feet, as shown from their sprites, although their artwork depicts them as white with red feet. Its name is a pun on the name of the character Barney Rubble from The Flintstones. A Barney Bubble's behavior involves it quickly running back and forth. A Yoshi cannot eat a Barney Bubble, and they can defeat it only by throwing an egg at it. Whenever a Barney Bubble is stomped on, it produces bubbles, the same type as those produced by Bubble Dayzees. Two Barney Bubbles appear in the level Monkeys' Favorite Lake, and in the remake, two more appear in the forest area of Endless World of Yoshis, for a grand total of four Barney Bubbles.
