[[Mushroom Mix-up]] is a 4-player mini-game found in ''[[Mario Party]]''. Players have to stay on the same colored mushrooms as [[Toad]]'s flag. If one of the players are too slow, the colored mushrooms will slowly sink down. Falling down into the water results in a [[Blooper]] appearing and carrying the player away as the player is out of the mini-game. The longer the players stay in the mini-game; the faster that the colored mushrooms will sink down. The last player standing wins the mini-game.

Mushroom Mix-Up is a 4-Player minigame found in Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars.

Overview[edit]

The gameplay involves players staying on the same-colored Mushroom Platforms as Toad's flag, then the other Mushroom Platforms slowly sink.[1][2] The speed increases as the minigame progresses. Players can ground-pound their opponents to stun them temporarily. A Blooper takes away anyone who fall into the water, removing that player from the minigame. The last player remaining wins, but if all players fall into the water, the end results is a draw.

Mushroom Mix-Up costs 50 coins to buy at the Mini-Game House in Mario Party.

In Mario Party Superstars, if two or more players stay in the minigame for a long time, a 30-second timer pops up,[3] and any players left when the timer expires wins, similarly to Shy Guy Says.   • The minigame Hexagon Heat from Mario Party 2 follows the same rules.
  • If the minigame lasts too long, the movement of Mushroom Platforms gets so fast that players can survive by just jumping at the right time, or even without jumping at all.[5]
    • In unlocalized releases, if the remaining players keep ground-pounding, the Mushroom Platforms move so fast that even doing nothing makes the players survive.
