An alternate arrangement of the "Main Theme" is also often associated with Professor E. Gadd.
==Original== | |||
The "Main Theme" is first heard in Luigi's Mansion in the cutscene where Professor E. Gadd meets Luigi for the first time. The "Main Theme" is most often heard when Luigi is in a dark hallway of the mansion and not actively engaged in combat. He may hum along to the theme as it plays, sounding more distressed as his HP gets closer to zero. It is titled 「ルイージマンション」 (Ruīji Manshon, "Luigi's Mansion") in the Nintendo Sound Selection Vol.3: B-Side Music album.

This arrangement is reused in the Nintendo 3DS remake of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, where it plays during cutscenes with Professor E. Gadd in the Starbeans Cafe.
The third arrangement of the "Main Theme" is briefly heard when E. Gadd prompts Luigi to use the Dark-Light Device to free Mario from his painting. It is in the key of A♭ minor and ends in a B-diminished triad.
All arrangements are reused for the same purposes in the Nintendo Switch port, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD.

The "Main Theme"[1], also known as the "Luigi's Mansion Theme",[2] is a musical theme composed for Luigi's Mansion by Kazumi Totaka.[3] It is a suspenseful piece played in A minor at a moderato tempo, and is usually associated with the Luigi's Mansion series and Luigi himself. An alternate arrangement of the "Main Theme" is also often associated with Professor E. Gadd.
Original
The "Main Theme" is first heard in Luigi's Mansion in the cutscene where Professor E. Gadd meets Luigi for the first time. The "Main Theme" is most often heard when Luigi is in a dark hallway of the mansion and not actively engaged in combat. He may hum along to the theme as it plays, sounding more distressed as his HP gets closer to zero. It is titled 「ルイージマンション」 (Ruīji Manshon, "Luigi's Mansion") in the Nintendo Sound Selection Vol.3: B-Side Music album.

A piano arrangement of the "Main Theme" can be heard when Luigi is standing outside of the Conservatory before defeating Melody Pianissima.
The music heard during the cutscene when Luigi is trapped in the Astral Hall is a brief arrangement of the "Main Theme"

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon features three different arrangements of the "Main Theme". The first arrangement is played on a compressed synthesizer and serves as the ringtone for the Dual Scream. It is played in the key of B♭ minor in an allegro tempo.
The second arrangement is heard when Luigi is in the Bunker, as well as when Professor E. Gadd is actively calling Luigi through the Dual Scream. The arrangement is also in B♭ minor with the melody played on a violin with oboe harmony.
