The objective is to use the blocks Wario carries to make a tower of blocks by putting blocks on top of the others for Wario to climb to reach the girder. If the player drops a block, they can always take another one (this does not make the player lose the microgame).
Wario has to reach a girder high above him. He carries a block that can be used to make a tower. The blocks can have different sizes and proportions, depending on the level. The player has to drag the blocks from Wario to above an existing block on the ground, then release the block to drop it. Blocks have to land on other blocks; they break on contact with the floor. Blocks also cannot be dropped from too high, or they break on contact. After taking a block from Wario, he runs off screen and comes back with another block. The only penalty for breaking blocks is the time spent trying to place that block. Once the stack is tall enough to reach or exceed the girder Wario will run up the tower and stand on the girder. The microgame is complete when Wario is standing on top of the girder, not when there is a complete tower.

The Crate Escape is one of Wario Man's microgames found in WarioWare: Touched! in the Super Zero stage and one of Wario Deluxe's microgames in WarioWare Gold. The microgame's name is a portmanteau of "crate" and "The Great Escape."

Gameplay[edit]
