Madpoles[1] are enemies in Super Mario 3D World and its port. Their name is a combination of "mad" and "tadpole". These turquoise tadpoles swim calmly on the water surface, though when they spot Mario or another player character, Madpoles will swim after them and continue doing so even if the character dives into the water. Madpoles can be defeated from any attack.
In the Super Mario Mash-up in Minecraft, Tadpoles are replaced by Madpoles.
