Searchlights, also known as roaming searchlights,[1] are stage elements that appear in the stage Searchlight Sneak in Super Mario 3D World. In this stage, Cat Bullet Bills can only fire if the player stands in a searchlight. Searchlights can move, but if the player stands in a searchlight, a Bowser's symbol will appear, and a searchlight will stop moving until it no longer points at the player. Cat Bullet Bills can still track the player if the player left the searchlight. They reappear in Spiky Spike Bridge Sneak, where they activate spikes when a player stands in one.
