Cloud Cannons[1] are objects that appear in Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury and bear a striking resemblance to Lakitu's Clouds. When a player jumps into a Cloud Cannon, the cloud produces a white Pipe Cannon that shoots the player into a Coin Heaven, which usually gives the player a Super Star or a Potted Piranha Plant used to run through a group of enemies and receive a Green Star at the end.
A Cloud Cannon first appears in Mount Beanpole, where the player must activate a Cat Wheel to reach it. Cloud Cannons replace the similarly functioning Super Note Blocks that appeared in Super Mario 3D Land.
In Bowser's Fury, Cloud Cannons lead to bonus areas where Mario has to defeat a group of Cat Biddybuds and Cat Para-Biddybuds with a Super Star. When they are all defeated, a Cat Shine appears at the end.
