Template:More images Cash is the in-game currency of the Splatoon series. Cash first appeared in Splatoon and returned in its sequel, Splatoon 2. Within the Mario series, it appears in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in the Urchin Underpass battle course when playing on the Coin Runners mode, replacing coins, similar to rupees in Hyrule Circuit and bells in Animal Crossing. Also like rupees and bells, they make a unique sound effect when collected.
Due to coins not being accessible from Item Boxes in Battle Mode, it is impossible to obtain cash via an Item Box.
