At first, Mimics blend in with the scenery due to their bush appearance. When the [[Kong]]s approach a Mimic, it hops up and chases them. Like most enemies, if the Kongs come in contact with a Mimic, they lose a heart point. The Kongs can defeat a Mimic from either a jump or a roll attack. If Donkey Kong [[Hand Slap]]s with a Mimic on the screen, leaves will shake off from the bush; regular bushes do not do this.
